Having a garage sale tomorrow. I was just thinking how much I hate those people that show up WAY early, while I'm still unpacking everything. They rifle through your stuff and ask you how much your asking.

Well, if you would WAIT UNTIL THE DESIGNATED START TIME, everything would be plainly labeled you poophead.

Sorry, just had to get this off my chest.;)

one of the many reasons I stopped having garage sales. I did try to outsmart them a few times by starting the sale at 6am, but then they would just show up the night before, THAT really ticked me off. They would get the addresses from the paper which I think is so very wrong.... I didn't place my ad for you to give my address out early before the paper comes out.

Yess, I had a sale 3 weeks ago. I had a lady show up at 6:45 a.m. Starting time was 8 a.m.

As soon as you open your garage, you are fair game, I guess.

Good luck.

What makes me madder is those who come by during the day to see what you have................then come back in the evening to see if you put anything that didn't sell out for the trash............then they take it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I've got a question for you garage sale people. I passed a yard that was setting up for their sale tomorrow. They put out a mountain bike that looked pretty good at a glance. How early is too early, to go and find out how much they are asking?

ps. I have a bike, but I'm just curious. I could always use a spare.:D

Dh and I always put in the ad "No Early Birds" so when they do show up I have no problem saying "Sorry, we are not allowing anyone in until 8 a.m." If they don't like it, too bad. I don't need them slowing me down while I am trying to set up. Another thing that was unbelievable was the amount of stuff we had stolen. Brand new men's bathing suits with the tags still on that I had put $1.00 on were stolen:rolleyes:. There were other things "missing" but it just amazes me that people would lower themselves to steal like that.:confused3

At the suggestion of another DISer I placed a sign up at the end of my driveway an hour before the yard sale was supposed to start....it read:

Sale starts at 7am....early birds will be charged double.

Stopped people from buying, but didn't stop them from strolling up the drive way and poking around while we were trying to set up. Too frustrating!

I am a big meanie and I tell people as they pull up or pull over No Early Birds. Most often they will drive oof one older lady yelled at me and told me she hoped I had a rotten sale and lost her business. She was there at opening though :p . I put it in my ads in the paper and on the signs I post so I don't feel too bad though.
