Games from childhood???? What..........

Reading these posts is really fun but it sort of makes me sad too. All though our kids have so much they're also missing out on alot I guess. Oh well I bet our parents had the same thoughts!

Ok, we played kick the can, red light/green light, Polly may we cross your bridge, Ditch, hopscotch, hide and seek, 4 square, drop off, freeze tag, tv tag, flashlight tag. We were outside ALL SUMMER. We would have 40+ kids for kick the can or hide and seek. Our boundaries would be an entire block of houses. We had a blast in the summers growing up.

Our kids still play "night games" as they call them. They have various forms of the same games we played growing up and get a bunch of neighborhood kids to play.

I used to love Hide and Seek! Freeze tag, mother may I, red light great light, mary mack.

In elementary school we had a huge playground. During recess we used to play Don't Touch the Rocks. We would climb, jump, swing, or whatever our around the playground without touching the gravel. So fun, and so dangerous. Oh the things I used to do as a kid that I wouldn't think of attempting now.

I also remember there being some weird swing thing. It was a big square of wood lifted a little off the ground by chains on each corner. If you stood on it, it swayed from side to side. Like a big surf board that could fit 10 kids. I remember we used to stand on the swing thing and have people on each corner tugging on the chains trying to throw everyone off. That would never be allowed in playgrounds now.

We played Hop Scotch, Four Square, Jumpsies and What Time is it Mr. Wolf?

When we were finally dragged inside we played Trouble, Risk and Checkers

Pit - A fabulously fun card game that gets kind of loud. It's based on trading commodities in the stock market. Quick and easy to learn. I taught my kids and we still love to play it.

Crazy Clock - can't find this game anywhere anymore.

Do you mean the teeter totter? I remember doing that. I also remember doing jump rope *couldn't do double dutch for the life of me, probably can't do it now either*, plus I remember my brother & cousin going outside & role-playing different charaters, though I forgot what. :p

I still play board games w/the b/f. He bought me the Disney version of Sorry, plus when I was over his house, we played Monopoly. That game lasted a couple of days, 'cause we played it for two hours then put it on hold. :p
