Gamefly -- Questions

Has anyone here used Gamefly to rent videogames? If so, how have you liked them? How long does it usually take to get/return games? How's the selection of games?

I'm considering getting DS7 a 2 or 3 month subscription for Christmas.

My kids think it's the greatest thing. Even they recognize that no matter how badly they might want a $60 video game, they quickly become tired of it (or beat it). I think Gamefly, for my kids, is a more worthwhile way to get games than to buy them.

It is slower for us than Netflix. Probably takes 4 days to turn around a gam (return to receive) They are happy with the selection. I don't know games - it's their thing.

We've used GameFly for a couple of years now. Turnaround time is quick (usually 3-4 days), and their customer service is great. About a year ago we had a recurring problem of games never arriving, and GameFly always sent out a replacement as soon as we notified them. Turns out a postal employee was stealing our games, but that's another story. They send out great coupon deals, and we've ended up buying several games this way, usually less than 1/2 of what we'd have to pay locally.

When I got my Wii, I also signed up for Gamefly.

Yes, the turnaround time is longer than Nefflix, takes about 4 days. It is really useful to find out if you enjoy a game without having to buy it. I saved about $100.00 when I did not enjoy playing a couple games. If you enjoy the game and want to keep it , you can buy it at a discounted price. Gamefly will then send you the box and instructions.
