Gamecube accessories

I purchased a Gamecube for my family on Black Friday and am very excited about having it. I bought the games, but now I need to know more about the accessories. What will I definitely need to purchase now, as opposed to what will be nice to get at a later point? Thanks in advance!

You will NEED a memory card and an extra joystick.

The nicest joystick is the wavebird, it is awesome cuz it is wireless so there are no cords and you can sit on the couch to play, but it needs batteries. You can get that later though!

I get every player their own memory card, believe me after having my game wiped out I learned my lesson. That is a now thing.

If you have the GBA you can get the cord that attaches to it so you can play the Game Boy games. This is later. In fact dh just got ours and I haven't used it yet.

I agree with FreshTessa, we have the wavebird wireless controllers and they are the greatest, no wires to trip over and the kids can sit whereever they want as they are not "tied" to the machine.

You do need a controller for each player and it only comes with one or two. Wavebirds are really nice and worth the money.

So, since I have four family members (and some games allow four to play), I will need a total of four controllers and four memory cards, right? Now can someone explain to me more about the memory cards? Thanks again!

4 controllers.. it depends on what you want. Some games can share a controller, like when the game is taking turns but, if 4 people want to race, they need their own controller. I got my Dad the wireless remote and, he LOVES it!!

From the little I know about memory cards...these save a players info, scores etc. that they achieved so that they don't have to start from the beginning each time. The ones I know of, fit into each controller.

I TOTALLY agree with the wavebird, bought that last year for DS (7) and he just loves it.

You don't actually need a memory card for each person, one memory card will hold several games, you want a memory card so that you can save your game and not loose all the work you do.
