Gameboy color at Kmart

We got the Kmart ad in today's paper that lists the Gameboy color for $49.99. Seems like a great buy, but is the newer Gameboy Advance going to make this obsolete? Dd hasn't asked for this, but I know they are handy for car trips. I'm tempted to get it.

Walmart has it listed for friday for $38.99

Also,Gameboy color- games are the cheapest with the most variety of games.

FYI - what K-Mart has is a "bundle pack" that includes the Super Mario Bros game as well, Wal-Mart is simply the unit. I went to K-Mart this morning at 7am to get one of these, but our store only had FIVE!! Needless to say I didn't get one. I doubt I'll try Wal-Mart tomorrow after seeing all the mess at K-Mart. DD hasn't asked for one, but I thought it would be great for our trip next week, oh well - maybe I'll get her a LeapPad instead.

My son has Leap Pad and loves it!!! We are getting home more books for Xmas. It also has a jack for headphones, very nice in the car!

I was at K mart at 6:30 and there was a line already for a 7 o'clock opening. They didn't have ANY gameboys! They were handing out rainchecks, but wouldn't guarantee anyone would get one. Boy is that lowdown or what!

The new game boy advance plays game boy color games, so they eventually may be phasing out the game boy color. The Advance Game Boy and its games graphics are so much better than the Game Boy Color. Just something to think about.

Yes, eventually the Gameboy Color will become obsolete. They will probably phase it out little by little, as new GBA games come out.

Does anyone happen to know if gameboy color games work on the gameboy advance system and vice versa?

Game boy color games do work in the game boy advance, but just not the same level of graphics that the games made for GBA have. My DS has one and loves it. DD has a GBA on her Christmas list. She wants the fuschia colored model. Hope I can find it. We were at Target at 6:30 am yesterday. Unbelievable how many people were there. Everyone was after the early bird sale on the stereo system, including me. It was almost a riot scene in the electronic dept. Very poor planning on the part of the target store. They had all the systems up on high shelves with no one there to help...then got upset when men were getting in their baskets to haul them off the shelves..,.very dangerous situation. We got our system, but DH says after that never again.....we will pay the higher price and buy early or take our chances during the regular shopping days. By the time we got our system they only had a couple more......lots of disappointed people. I am surprised these stores get away with this.....State attorney generals.....where are you?? Should the consumers be treated this way?

I got 1 of the Kmart Gameboy Color Bundles!!! Plus a $9.99 Powder Puff game and the Mary Kate and Ashley Planner at $29.99[missed it at Toys r Us for $9.99,boo hoo!!!]

Gameboy Color games work in Gameboy Advance. They play as if they were in Gameboy Color. So If you already own Gameboy Color, the games will not go to waste.
