Did you ever play the computer games based on popular game shows? I used to play them all the time when I was a little girl with my dad and my favorite game show computer game was Wheel Of Fortune made by Gametek in the 80's and my dad and I would play for hours even though I was a better player than Dad. We also had The Price Is Right on the computer as well also by Gametek
What is your favorite game show computer game?

@DodgerGirl I remember that Wheel of Fortune game! It was very well done and captured what the TV show felt like. The computer contestants had pretty good animations/graphics, and Wheel of Fortune made for a good computer game - a bit of randomness in the wheel values and some strategy in guessing the words. My wife and I played many hours of that game, and it had replayability.

I miss the days past when you could buy a game for a fixed price and enjoy it for months/years without having the game try and sell you add-ons/upgrades. That was much more enjoyable to me, playing a well designed game that was complete.

There were also a few really good board game to computer game conversions. We played Life, Monopoly, Risk, etc.

Good memories!

I had Wheel of Fortune as well but I’m not sure if it was made by the same company. My memory might be a little off but I remember it didn’t stay true to the game as Vanna always wore the same green dress and had red hair. Maybe I’m thinking of something else. We also had the Jeopardy game but I don’t remember if Alex was seen or just all of the blue squares.

Do you remember when Sony made a Wheel Of Fortune computer game with real human players? It was made in 1995 and it looked amazing and Vanna White hosted it. I remember my dad being addicted to that version of Wheel Of Fortune and he would try to win every time. I still play Wheel Of Fortune video games but my favorite version is the Nintendo DS version. I also have played the computer game version of Deal Or No Deal and that one is also my favorite game show computer game

I remember being at somebody's house playing Family Feud on Wii... it was fun!
There was also a Family Feud computer game made by Hasbro Interactive made in 2000 that had Louie Anderson do the hosting duty and the coolest thing about that game was you could take your family's photos and export them to the game but I remember reading that the gameplay was poorly designed. Did you ever play that computer game version of Family Feud Kathryn?

That's the version I played as a little girl and the part that would ALWAYS make me laugh was the buzzer when the game would say "Sorry there are no D's and the other part that was really funny about that Wheel Of Fortune computer game was the wheel sounded like somebody blowing a raspberry. But it was a cool game and in the 80's Gametek was a big maker of game show computer games and that's what made them king

That sounds really cool. Looks like this many years later they could (or maybe they have) polish something like that up and make it really cool.

I never played the computer version of Family Feud myself, just the Wii. I do however remember playing "Remote Control" on computer. I also remember playing "You Don't Know Jack" on the computer. I think the game came out before the show on that one.

I remember playing a few on the NES, particularly Jeopardy!, but they weren't my favorite types of games. They are probably better with a group - if you play alone the computer CHEATS! 🤣

I also remember having board games of The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune - all paper & cardboard and such. The games required a "host" to facilitate and set up the games. They were neat, but kind of cumbersome.

Did you ever play the Deal Or No Deal computer game? As I mentioned in my opening post that was my favorite game show computer game and I was amazed at how realistic that game was and it was so cool and it had a virtual Howie Mandel as the host

The Internet Archive has the game playable on its website if you're interested in reliving the experience: https://archive.org/details/win3_WHEEL

I also had The Price Is Right for my old computer too and it was cool but when Mom would try to play it she would always mess up and the game she would always have trouble on was the Range Game and she would almost win but would lose each time. They later made The Price Is Right in a new PC version in 2007 as well as a Nintendo DS version which that PC game is so cool but I have the Nintendo DS version and it's great too. I wish Let's Make A Deal had a PC game back in the day and that would have cool to play on the computer

My aunt and cousin and her boyfriend were obsessed with You Don't Know Jack when we played the game when they visited and every night when I would be sleeping they would stay up all night playing You Don't Know Jack and my aunt would win each time. Then the next day Mom would play against my aunt and her boyfriend and Mom would always lose. In fact my aunt LOVED You Don't Know Jack so much that a few days after she visited us she bought the handheld version of You Don't Know Jack and liked it as well. I love playing You Don't Know Jack on my Nintendo DS too. But the game show computer game I disliked the most and still have a strong dislike for it was Who Wants To Be A Millionaire 2nd Edition and that one I couldn't win and I would actually sob in tears when I couldn't win but I actually won the virtual million dollars finally but I had the Gameboy Color version that I actually liked more

I think that when it came to game show computer games in the 80's Gametek was truly the king of game show computer games because they actually made the games so realistic it was like the Real McCoy. But if you look at the game show computer game versions today of game shows like Family Feud and Jeopardy you can see that some of these adaptions are weak. But one computer game that always gets a good version released is Wheel Of Fortune and when I learn about game show computer games I go view gameplay videos on Youtube. Like have you seen a Wheel Of Fortune computer game made by Hasbro Interactive? That version was so cool that you could choose the set and it came out in 2001 and a second edition followed in 2002

Another game show that also had a Gametek computer game was the game show Now You See It that used to air on CBS in 1989 and the computer game of Now You See It was really cool and like the actual show. When it comes to game show computer games it's amazing how today's game show computer games are different today. Because I think Ubisoft is becoming the new Gametek and they make every single game for the computer on game shows such as Family Feud Press Your Luck Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and The Price Is Right

We still have a Price is Right computer game. We also have a Scrabble game cd but it's not based on the game show. Years ago on an older computer, I enjoyed playing Classic Concentration.

I had Wheel of Fortune and Who Wants to be a Millionaire on a gaming platform (maybe the initial Playstation?). On the computer, I think I had Family Feud. But as someone else mentioned above, there were a couple of war games that were played regularly (Axis and Allies, Risk, Diplomacy and 688 Attack Sub).
