Last night we hosted a "Game Night" for our adult friends at our house and had such a blast.

We used games we already had (and people brought their favorites, too).
We supplied sodas and chips/pretzels and ice.
Each person brought something else (no more than a few $). We had cake, ice cream, chips / dip, etc. Some brought iced tea.

We had it set to run for 3 hours and had so much fun, nobody left until we were in the 7th hour.

So, each month, someone else is the host and we'll rotate to their house.

Does anyone else do this? We're looking for fun ideas to add in.

And, it was really cheap. No one spent more than $3 (plus gas to get here) and we had hours and hours of fun.

My friends and I do this all the time. We are late twenties early thirties crowd and we have a blast. We rotate houses and everyone brings snacks. What's more fun then eating and laughing with friends!! :thumbsup2 We've played Wii games, board games (apples to apples, pictionary etc) We've also had a taco night where we all bring a topping for tacos, ice cream night same idea we all bring a topping.

Love Apples to Apples...so much fun:goodvibes

We started doing this (by accident!) a few months ago. But we include the kids as well as adults.

Our favorite game is The Game of Things. Everyone loves this one.

Apples to Apples is also a crowd pleaser. :)

It seems like we hit something different with each house we visit. One month we added karaoke at one house, the next month it was Rock Band on the Wii at a different house. But board games are still our favorites.

The host family usually offers pizza and drinks, and everyone else brings sides and desserts.

My kids love this and look forward to it every month. We do it with family, but I am considering seeing if some of the kids' friends' families would want to start it too - because it is such a good time!

We do game nights as well and have a lot of fun. We really like to play the board game Imaginiff, and spend hours laughing from it.

Some ideas you can do is have a baked potato bar and the host can supply the potatoes while the others can bring toppings. We also do wing night where everyone makes their favorite wings or appetizers.

Our group of friends has been doing this for a few years, mostly in the winter to liven up the cold dark days. We do mostly board games, but have also done Rock Band night (we all dressed in 80s rocker outfits), Bunco night (also silly hat night), etc. We have done silly themes in addition to the games to include 80s prom night (this was a special night for a bday party game night), ugly shirt night (fun to shop at thrift stores to come up with a doozy), Cinco de Mayo (wear mexican themed outfit, bring mexican dish to share). Use your imagination and dont' be afraid to act silly!

If you have a fun group of adults, you may want to try a Host your Murder Mystery party. Lots of fun! Congrats on your successful game nights!

Sounds like so much fun...awesome ideas!

We used to do that here at the lake on the nights when it rained and we couldn't have a campfire.. Then "Mrs. Milton Bradley" sold her place and moved to Florida, a few friends passed away, and now we only have enough people left to play cards and such.. (Sometimes it's just me and my late friend's DH..)

They were fun times - and they have such great board games for adults now! Who says adults can't have their "play time" too?? Always good to loosen up, laugh, and sometimes get downright silly..:goodvibes
