GAME-- Guess the Christmas song lyric

Frosty the Snowman!!!

Here's some more lyrics...

How'd you like to stay up late, like the islanders do?
Wait for Santa to sail in with your presents in a canoe.

Hmm... Is that a Jimmy Buffet christmas song?

Just wondering!

Sorry it took so long to get back to this....nope, not a Jimmy Buffet song. I think its from the 40's or 50's.

This is Christmas Island. Jimmy Buffet did sing a version of it, but maybe you were looking for the Andrews Sister's version?

How about this one...?

"It went "Zip" when it moved and "Pop" when it stopped,
"Whirrr" when it stood still
I never knew just what it was and I guess I never will."

This is fun, yeah I have the Andrew Sisters and Guy Lombardo singing it...didn't know Buffet had done it, but I should have guessed.

Is yours the Marvalous Toy?? John Denver I think.

This one is easy...

Greeting cards have all been sent
The Christmas rush is through
But I still have one more wish to make
A special one for you

Yes it is. I love that song! JD among other sang it.

How about.........

"Rust and smoke, the heater's broke, the door just blew away.
I light a match to see the dash and then I start to pray.
The frame is bent, the heater went, the radio it's Ok."

I don't know that heater one, is it a country type song?

I don't know the heater one, but has anyone answered Dizzy's yet? One of my favorites, Merry Christmas Darling, by The Carpenters.

I'm not so good at these, but I'll give it a try...

I have traveled, many moonlit nights
Cold and weary, with a babe inside...

The Carpenters.. good one.. I was racking my brain on that one.. I KNEW I had heard it before...

Erika.. can you give us a hint on this one.. is it a traditional song or a song that one group has sung?

Rusty Chevrolet...i think, don't know who sings it though

Am I supposed to come up with the next lyrics??
Can't think of any right now if I am...so someone take my place here...

Cindy,

It's sort of tradtional, contemporary traditional maybe. It has not been sung by a group that I am aware of. It was sung by a soloist at our Christmas service last year, but it is not in hymnal.

Let me know if you want more hints.

Erika

Oh, one more hint, it was written and originally sung by a woman, on her Christmas CD in 1992.

For I've grown a little leaner,
Grown a little colder,
Grown a little sadder,
Grown a little older,
And I need a little angel
Sitting on my shoulder...
