Galveston to IAH transfers

Just wondering who you use for the above

I know DCL do transfers at 45pp

There will be at least ten of us

Also I have heard traffic can be bad. If international flight is at 5pm what time would you leave Galveston

We did this in January and yes traffic can be bad, but it is all freeway driving and can expect to be about 1.5 to 2 hours to IAH. we did DCL transfers and we were at the airport before 11 (off the ship at 9). But given you have a 5pm international flight you probably do not need to be there until 2pm and depending on the carrier, may not be able to check your bags prior to 2pm. There isn't much to do at the IAH airport outside of security, unless you get a day room at the marriot (expect about $100 for a room). So you probably would be safe to leave Glaveston at 11 or noon to get to IAH.

There are lots of shuttles services between Glaveston and the airports... But some of them make multiple stops so besure to check on that if you end up in a time crunch. Some will stop at Hobby before going to IAH, so you can end up taking a bit longer than 2 hours to get to IAH

Wow the journey is longer than I thought

When we got off at Vancouver you could pay to leave cases at cruise port and have delivered to the airport. I wonder if Galveston do anything like that

I know you can not book day rooms ahead of time, but when I did a day room in January, they did not ask me how many people. But there was only 1 chair and 2 beds in the room. Not sure there is much space for 10 people, but did give you a place for your bags to refresh and maybe use the pool if you want. You can also just hang in the Marriot Lobby and use their restaurant. With 10 people there would be someone to watch the baggage.


I know DCL does not do the onboard airline checkin or checkin your luggage, like they do for PC/Orlando cruises. I am not sure Galveston port has any services to hold your bags, once you go through customs.
