DH gets panic attacks due to feeling "trapped," as discussed on the Guardians thread. Just wanted to share his experience on Cruiser, in case it helps someone else.
While he said that the experience was "amazing" and loved doing it with DS (I was not there), ultimately "it isn't for someone like him." He was so rattled mentally that he didn't do any other rides on the last 2 days of the trip.
DH said that the elevator ride up was triggering, and unfortunately it went downhill from there. He debated leaving the first day, but after finding the "Climate Simulation Area" and deciding to sit out some activities he was able to stick it out. The Cruiser cast members were fantastic, and arranged alternative transportation to/from Galaxy's Edge, which helped. Be aware though that there are several times when you are "locked into" certain activities, and even the "all hands" experience felt like it was too much for him. He also would not have been able to sleep in the bunk (fortunately my mom offered to sleep there instead).
FWIW DS said it was the most fun he has ever had at Disney (which is really saying something), and my mom is already campaigning to do it again. If we do repeat it as a family DH thinks that it would help to talk to the cast members in advance and again on the ship to explain his issues and tell them that he needs to know how to "get out," if needed. The room is also quite cramped, so we would probably want to get 2 even if technically we fit into 1 to give him more space to breathe.
