I am considering an employment opportunity in Gainesville. What can you tell me about the city? Particular neighborhoods to consider? The position would be on the University of Florida campus. I don't need to worry about schools, as the kids are in college (or will be soon and not attending K-12 school in FL). I'd probably have to be there 1 year by myself before DH could join me. I'd rather be in a house than rent, so neighborhood suggestions are welcome. PMs welcome! I may be making a quick road trip to Gainesville in the next few days to check it out, and may be in need of a kick-butt realtor, so suggestions welcome there too. What's great about Gainesville? What's not so great? Thanks!

Oh, dear! That would make you a GATOR! Don't do it!

Go NOLES!

By the way, I love your screen name!

What she said!!!!!! :lmao:

Actually, Gainesville is a great little town. Very pretty, lots of trees, some little rolling hills and creeks, parks, old buildings, but also a large university so there is thriving food and shopping, as well as good museums and all of the university related activities (sporting events or fine arts performances).

Eat at Grandy's. :thumbsup2

I just make sure to wear FSU attire when we visit, haha. ;)
