Gail & Ian's PJ - 9/09 SBP Ceremony, CG Reception & II Dessert Party

Since I've been "stalking" everyone else's PJs I've finally decided to start one of my own. I just hope my wedding turns out at least half as nice as the ones I've seen so far.

HOW DID WE MEET
My Aunt knew Ian's Uncle and she thought we'd make a cute couple. My Aunt email Ian a picture of me to Ian and then she emailed me a picture of Ian. I opened that email and it was like love at first sight. First thing I said to myself was "Guys like him don't date girls like me." Anyway, my Aunt gave him my number and he called me a few nights afterwards. We talked for hours on the phone here and there for a few weeks and we decided it was time to meet each other. He lived in New Jersey and I lived in Connecticut at the time. We met 3 weekends after we first started talking and it was magical. He was a great guy. Three months later he asked me to move in with him - so I did and it's been great since. Every day I fall more and more in love with him.

HOW HE PROPOSED
Lets start from the top. He asked my Dad for permission and then went ring shopping with him. We went home back to New Jersey and 2 weeks later he took me out to a seafood restaurant called "Off the Hook" on Sandy Hook Beach on the first sunny day of the year (April 10th 2008). Then he took me up to the top of a nearby mountain overlooking Sandy Hook Beach and you could even see NYC! He told me he loved me and wanted me to be a big part of his life forever and gave me a kiss. By the time I opened my eyes from the kiss he had the ring at my eye level and asked me to marry him. Of course I said yes, cried, hugged him, and kissed him. *Swoons*

I was laughing after reading your post because it sounds like we will be wedding plans twins. We're having the same ceremony and reception location as you, I'm getting married the month before you and I think we have the same engagement ring

This or this is the bridesmaid dresses. I can't quite decide yet. But I deffinately would like them in red. The difference between the Maid Of Honor is going to wear a tiara to seperate her from the bridesmaids.

GUESTBOOK
For the guestbook I'm just getting one of those frames that you can sign. I wanted something that I can display - that'd be perfect!

CAKE

Plain round 2 tiered cake with red ribbon at the base of each tier accompanied with the above topper.

FLOWERS
I'm going to do the floral myself via silk flowers but I just need to find the style I'm looking for. I'm using fall flowers like roses, calla lillies, and baby's breath. I'm going to hand tie it and have little photo frame charms hanging from the bouquet. I'm going to put pictures of the ones that have passed away that can't make it to our wedding.

PERSONALIZED NAPKINS

I'm obviously going to be putting our names and our date on there. I'm going to be giving them to the bartender to use to give out drinks with. I think it'll be a nice touch. You can get 100 of them for $28!

This is it printed in black.

PLACE CARD HOLDERS

It'll be the place card holders and the bells. I'll tie red and yellow ribbons around the handle to go with our theme.

Your proposal sounds so romantic, oh and the ring is beautiful. All your ideas sound wonderful I especially love the NAPA room you can see the castle from there. The dress is absolutely gorgeous...

I don't know about the Mickey vases yet. I'm just basing my centerpieces off that look. I might just use some dollar store vases. Not sure yet though!

Hey, I'm all for saving money and besides there is nothing wrong with not spending a lot of money on something you probably won't use again. i.e. 10 vases or whatever.

hey ladies, i thought i would chime in... I made those vases and i made them with the idea that the people at the tables could take them with them that way i wouldn't have to pay a $35 rental fee to disney to use their vases.

I've decided to put 4 floating tealights around the centerpiece. But I'm going to add 2 or 3 drops of food coloring in the water to go with our color scheme.

That's a picture of the candle holder I'd like to use. Yay or nay?
