GAHH! Disney Gacked our Flight Tickets!!!

SOOO we got our MYW passes this today.

We reviewed the information and .. our names are wrong!!!!!

Instead of using our full legal names, as detailed on our passports, the CM who took our reservations put our short/nicknames --


My Wife is S(8 letters) I. A-Lopes.

My Name is B(9 letters) Doyle-Dimou

On our documents are listed as B(3 letters) Doyle
Her name is listed as S(3 letters) Lopes.

I made it very clear to them about our names, and how we have had problems with travel before due to hyphenated names at time of booking.

When we called Disney reservations,to inquire about this, the CM on the line actually YELLED at my Wife saying how could YOU do this, this is YOUR responsibility to make sure we have your proper info. Seriously? He was downright RUDE. Then he realized that our full names WERE listed in our reservation, but that they were in a notation, not in the name field. Did he apologize now? No.. he kept going!!

When my wife mentioned that she was concerned that our insert value here Vacation could be at risk over this, he actually said -- its not a very expensive vacation -- i have seen MUCH more expensive vacations..

WHAT IS HAPPENING to DISNEY WORLD Service?! We called with a very VALID concern -- can we get on the plane with tickets issue to the wrong name? I doubt it... --- and were berated and yelled at by a CM.

Maybe we aren't doing the happy dance anymore :(

He said it could take 3-7 days to correct --- we leave in 9 days... and the names have to be correct 72 hours in advance.


** update** just talked to the airline and within 2 minutes, it was all addressed, with a pleasant gentleman, who actually wished me a happy vacation.
 
Good to hear!!

My first name was cut off the ticket once because it said (lap child) or something like that on the same line. I was held up at security and just made it to the gate in time.

Sorry that happened, and I can see your concern.

For other readers...in particular, those who have a 'nickname' or shortened version of their name.... I have found it to be easiest to just book all travel....WDW reservations, any hotel reservations in fact, plane tickets (as now required), park tickets, shuttles, excursions, etc. in my more formal name. It just lets me avoid the situations of being "nickname" here and "given name" there. So....while I don't really answer to my more formal name....it keeps everything consistent across the board.

You need to write a letter complaining about the CM.

This is the first time we have flown, all other previous trips we drove.. they linked this reservation to our previous profile. They HAD our legal names, they just didn't add them to the appropriate field for hte travel docs.

The guy provided his name, and a call reference number. Believe me, we will be complaining..

I have had the opposite experience. When i started flying for my current company, the TA booked me with my Company profile info, and that just didn't work for US Immigration at all (preclearence at the airport in Toronto). They declined me entry based on not having appropriate travel documents.

But Airtran helped us out and got us covered... so we hare back to happy dance!
