I saw coconut water at Target today and thought I'd see what all the fuss is about. I pictured a light, refreshing, slightly sweet drink. It tastes like salt water instead.

Like you guys, I thought i'd love it! at first i did, I thought it tasted like ice cream. Then I got an aftertaste and i panicked. I so wanted to spit it out, but thought that might be a little inappropriate in the middle of Costco. Then I made everyone else try it so they could suffer with me. *insert evil laugh here*

1.5 oz Coconut Vodka
0.75 oz Lemon Juice
0.75 oz Simple Syrup

The appeal is that it has no calories, carbs, fat or sugar and more potassium than a banana.
With that said, I prefer coconut water mixed with rum, condensed milk and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Full of electrolytes, wonderful if you're stranded on a deserted island!

Not so great otherwise. It's an acquired taste I hear. I get my coconut benefits by drinking coconut milk in my coffee, and cooking with coconut oil. Much tastier.

It is kind of funny in a way, I don't care that much for the taste of coconut water. I don't see myself drinking it with a meal. But after a hard workout at the gym it tastes refreshing and not that bad.

I thought it tasted like a banana soaked in water from dirty socks.
