GAD upgrade question

We already bought tickets as part of our package and were planning on using our GAD passes as fast passes (for our trip in August), but now we are considering a short trip in January. I know the GAD tickets need to be redeemed by December, but could I purchase tickets for our January trip, while we are there in August, using the GAD ticket to upgrade from? Does that make sense? The tickets are good for 14 days after first park entry, right? So I can buy them in August and use them in January?

No, I don't think you can do it the way you are thinking. To upgrade the GAD ticket yo have to use it first, then buy a new pass. It would expire 14 days from that day. How about saving the tickets you bought as part of your package? Use the GAD in August and use it toward your August ticket.

We used ours as FP and LOVED it!

It will not work that way. The GAD ticket that you receive from the voucher must be used that day. Then you can do the upgrade. So the 14 day expiration clock starts right then.

What you can do is save your August package tickets for January and use the GAD tickets, and upgrade, for your August trip.
