We leave for Disney soon and are going to use our GAD ticket.
We know we are going back next year. If I upgrade our GAD tickets
to a 4 day non-expiry ticket will that mean I have 3 days left on it?
(using the GAD ticket on day of upgrade)

That is how it would work but you're spending about $55 for non expire to save about $78. Seems like a lot of money out compared to the little savings.

The one day ticket is worth about $84. The difference between a 3 & 4 day ticket is about $6.

Are you sure you'll need exactly 3 days next year?

Any chance you'll want to stay onsite next year? Often Disney's best deals are those that require you to purchase park tickets as part of the package.

I'm just trying to come up with the cheapest way to leave us with one ticket for next year. Here's my scenario....

Right now I have a 3 day Park hopper/no expiry ticket (x4).
We are spending three days at the parks this year, one of those days we will hop.
We will use one of those days this year, saving 2 for next year. So that leaves a 2 day park hopper/non expiry ticket for next year's trip.

For the remaining 2 days of this year's trip I will use the GAD ticket and upgrade to a 2 day ticket. Using all days for this trip.

Next year I will just buy the 1 day ticket (if we need it), leaving us with a one day ticket + 2 days of park hopping tickets. We are going with friends and are splitting the days between Disney and Universal - which means the 2 day park hoppers may be enough for this trip ( I don't want to put money out now for a ticket that may not be used).

I hope this all makes sense.

If you have an unused three day no expire park hopper the current value (not including tax) is $295 (adult). If you know you are going to be using two days on your next visit you will only have to pay $58 to upgrade it to a five day no expire hopper. And it would only be $72 to upgrade it to a six day NE hopper.

If you take your GAD ticket and upgrade it to a two day ticket it will cost you $77.

So it is definitely cost effective to upgrade the three day NE hopper to five (or six) days and use the GAD for either the Fastpass Eschange Cards or the pin sets.

The 3 days I have left are from an original 10 day ticket (non expire, park hopper). Could I then still upgrade those leftover tickets to a 5 or 6 day ticket (non expire, park hopper) for the $$ you quoted above?

No. The way you wrote the original post I thought that your passes were unused. As long as the passes were first used more than 14 days ago they cannot be upgraded or modified in any way.

Your best option might actually be to use the GAD tickets and then upgrade to new 10 day No expire hoppers. That is one day of the trip, leaving nine days remaining. Tehn finish off your old tickets. If you tend to do only a few days at a time, the new tickets will last for at least two full trips (in addition to the one day used this trip) and you will have the advantage of both the value of the GAD plus the long-term savings with the ten day no expire.

Thank CF! I didn't think the first scenario would work. Unfortunately after this trip and next year's trip I don't see a another trip to Disney for some years. I really just want to get thru this trip and next trip. Just don't have the $$ to do the 10 day at this time.
