Okay, I know we have to show a birth certificate for a child when redeeming the vouchers. Does anybody know if the BC is just to prove that is the correct child or to check the age? My daughter will not be six until July 6th and we will be going to Disney in June. Will they give her the voucher or will they say she is too young?
Thanks so much:cutie:

Did you find an agency that let her volunteer at age 5?

She will not meet the requirements if she is not 6, so she would NOT be issued a ticket. Sorry. (Here's the info from the FAQ page)

Program Terms & Conditions

Receive free admission* to one of the theme parks of Walt Disney World® Resort or the Disneyland® Resort when you sign up and complete a day of volunteer service with a participating organization.

You must sign up for eligible volunteer opportunities for the “Give a Day. Get a Disney Day.” program through this site. Participation in volunteer activities outside of this sign-up process does not qualify for a free ticket.

Ticket quantities for this program are limited.

One ticket per person, regardless of the number or hours of volunteer service completed.

The program begins January 1, 2010 and continues until tickets are distributed or December 15, 2010, whichever occurs first.
Eligible volunteer opportunities are located in the United States, including Puerto Rico, or Canada only and you must have a residence in the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada to sign up.

You must be at least 18 years of age to sign up, and you may sign up a maximum of 8 additional members of your same household. Children must be at least 6 years of age to volunteer under this program and receive a theme park ticket. Children ages 6-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when volunteering. Other age restrictions may apply to certain eligible volunteer opportunities.

I don't think she will qualify.

It's my understanding that you must be at least 6 years old to do the volunteer work. And the birth certificate is "proof of identity" because the voucher can only be used by the person who did the volunteer work.

From http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/di...-A-Day-Get-A-Disney-Day-Terms-Conditions-FAQs

Children must be at least 6 years of age to volunteer under this program and receive a theme park ticket.

What do I need to bring to the theme park to redeem my voucher?

To redeem your ticket at a Walt Disney World® or Disneyland® theme park, you must bring a valid photo ID along with your voucher. Valid ID is one of the following: valid Government Issued Passport, valid Driver's License including a photo, or valid Government Issued Photo ID. For children under 18 who do not have any of the previous listed IDs, a copy of a Birth Certificate is acceptable. School IDs or children security IDs are not deemed Government Issued Photo IDs and will not be accepted.

I'm sorry. I'm sure that wasn't the answer you were hoping for.

Not what I wanted to hear. But it is what I thought I would hear (read!). I was reading a thread where someone was talking about their 4 year old doing a blanket? That is what prompted me to ask because I couldn't find anything that was younger than 6. Guess I need to start looking for a one day ticket for her....

The 4 year old could MAKE the blanket but they won't get a ticket for it. The cut off age for the promotion is 6. Frankly, I'm shocked is was that young (but thankful as my DD is 6 ;))

You can just buy your DDs ticket at the park (when you cash in your GAD vouchers) or at the hotel when you arrive.

FWIW, I have a friend who's son made two blankets. He is five, she got a GAD ticket for him, brought his BC, and they didn't even check his age, just the name. Now, YMMV and I am not debating right or wrong, but she had no problems.
Up to you whether or not to take the chance. I know alot of people have.
