Has anybody used the GAD FastPass option yet at Disneyland???

I have seen some reports for DW, but not DL.

Do you think you will get to select options for both parks at the same time or will you only be able to use it for one specific park?

Anyone know?

IF it is like the dream fastpasses, they were good in both parks on one day. But I have no idea what the Give a Day FPs will be like. I would be interested as well, we were trying to decide if we should use it towards an AP or the FP, all depends on how good the FP is. All I know is it is good for up to 6 ppl.

I'm pretty sure they're more like the Birthday FP, not the dream FP.

The b-day FP worked like this:
You get to pick 2-3 rides from each of 2 categories. The first category consisted of the more popular FP attractions (Space, Indy, Soarin, Splash, etc.). The 2nd category was made up of the lesser FP attractions (BLAB, BTMRR, Mulholland, etc.). You would get a special card which you would take to the attraction and insert into the FP machines at the attractions that you chose and it would spit out x number of FPs with an immediate return time.

So for an easier illustration. Let's say my family of 4 wanted to use our special FP thing for Space and Indy from Category 1 and BLAB and BTMRR from Category 2. I could go to Space and insert my special card and get 4 FPs that would be good right away. Then I could do the same for the other 3 rides, as well as use the regular FP system with our park tickets.

If you have multiple people in your party, you can use 1 person's GADGAD FP for your whole party for one day, then the next day use another person's GADGAD FP because each special card is good for up to 6 people. So technically, you could do it for 6 days if you wanted if you had 6 people in your party.

Well that doesn't sound THAT fantastic. I will probably just use the $72 towards an AP then and do FPs the way we normally do (send my brother running to get them :thumbsup2) it usually works out great we time them pretty well.

Thanks for the input!

We live in Canada and are getting the SoCal City Pass so the FPs are the best deal for us.

Still curious to know if anybody has tried this yet............

I've been waiting to hear as well. Our trip is in March and we have APs which we will not be renewing so we will have to choose between pins or FPs. Since 5 of us will have GAD vouchers it will likely be some combo of both.

Ok what about this though....what happens if an attraction is out of fastpasses for the day? Can we still get one?
I can't remember, but when they are out of fp for the day, don't they put those covers on them?

I do not know how the "Give a Day" FPs work, but if an attraction is out of FPs for the day, it's out. So unless you are not getting them from the machine (like Dream Fastpasses were), then you could not get a FP for that attraction.

If I've read things correctly about the WDW GAD FPs and if they work the same at DLR, then even if a ride runs out of FP, they will keep one FP machine running solely for the purpose of GAD FPs. That's the report on the WDW boards.

I sure hope so. It would be great if anyone had used theirs at DLR already :lmao: I'm debating on if I'm going to get the FP instead of my day when I go in July or if I'll get the pins instead. I get very cheap PH's from my Credit Union so there's no point in using my actual ticket. I'm not much of a pin collector but they will sure last longer than a day with FP, but since I wont be there as long as I'm now used too ... Decisions, decisions.

How cheap of tickets does your credit union offer?

As for what to pick, when thinking of the FPs, how many of the FP attractions do you think you will want to ride? Maybe that can help you decide.

Right now with the adults pay kids prices promotion our tickets are about $144 for 4-day park hoppers. Cheaper than I've ever been able to find anywhere else. But we're only going for 3 days, so I'll be getting a 3-day PH since I want my MM which would make the GAD ticket of no use.

As for the FP's, it always helps to know exactly what rides it offers - so I'm going to keep my eye out until someone who has used them posts details about it. The good news is, I have a few months to figure it out. My friend going with me rides more rides than I normally do, so I don't know what she'd like to do.

There is a thread somewhere with pictures...it might be in the "official" promotion thread...:confused3

Thanks for the replies. Now I'll have to plan my 2 day strategy to use them since we have never been. I think my best plan of attack will be to figure out what park we will be in for the night time shows and load up on that park.

Thank you..so the GAD fastpasses are really only good for a total of 2 rides per person?

No. Each person gets 3 of each the Donald's and Daisy's favorites. So in total, each person gets 6. They simply only photographed one of each.

I quoted Hawleys' two posts about the GAD FP's below:

We used one of our vouchers to get the special fastpasses last weekend.
All four people in our party received the fastpasses. We each received a total of 6 passes, 3 for Daisy's favorites and 3 for Donald's favorites.

Daisy's Favorites:
Autopia
Big Thunder
Buzz Lightyear
Grizzly River Run
Mulholland Madness

Donald's Favorites:
Indiana Jones
Roger Rabbit
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
California Screamin'
Soarin'
Tower of Terror

I believe these are exactly the same as the birthday promotion fastpasses from last year.

Here is a pic of the fastpasses. Sorry for the poor quality, taken on my cell phone.

Can the GAD voucher be traded in for a giftcard, like with the birthday promotion??
