Have there been any changes to the GAC since August 2012? We decided yesterday to go to WDW in mid April and I wasn't sure if FP+ has caused any changes.

It is jar to say if anything will change by April. If you are in need of a GAC you should check the disabilities faq thread as that is the most up to date (still non-official) information or ask at Guest Relations on your first day. The GAC cards are always changing to better meet guest needs so it is always worth asking what is new and if a CM says sorry you can't use that here then that could be a new rule an not just someone not doing their job. I don't want that to sound directed at you but at the situation. In attractions we hear "but that wasn't the rule last time" or "but we were allowed to do it earlier" all the time. Not all CMs follow the rules to a t and so sometimes guests are allowed to do things that aren't necessarily the real rules and then get mad at us when the real rules or new rules or enforced.

Thank-you, the disabilities faqs was last updated before our last trip so there must not be anything new since then.

read sue post really great info

Fastpass + is in testing, but nothing more than testing at this point.

There are rumors for how it may affect Guest Assistance Cards, mostly in terms of using an RFID enabled card, bracelet or some other device to become the GAC.
That would provide more security and allow it to actually be 'tied' to the person it was issued to.

Those, and anything else, are just rumors at this point. Actually, there is very little besides rumors about how Fastpass Plus will actually work.
When I know more, I will update post 6 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread.
