Has anyone ever used the GAC card for autistic child? How useful is it, do they honor it well? My sister is going with her son who is autistic and he can't wait in lines especially in the heat, but there are certain things he really wants to do. She would love your responses if you have used this in the past. P.S. They are going the Second week in June during Star Wars (she is crazy) but that is the #1 thing for him as he is 9 and a Star Wars fan to the core.

A. starwars week is fun.

B. Every situation is handled on a case by case basis for the GAC.

Talk to guest services, explain the situation, they will work with you to provide the best services possible.

If you haven't already been to the disabilities board go there. there is a sticky thread specifically about the GAC. yes people have used it for children w/ autism. You can also post on the disabilities board asking for more info if you don't see what you need on the GAC sticky and several people will be very helpful there.

My dd4 isn't autistic but she doesn't walk or stand and so we use the GAC so that they consder dd's stroller a wheelchair.

What is a GAC card? If there was a family with a special needs child and they asked if they could go in front of me, I would certainly allow them to do so.

GAC is guest assistance card... and that is basically how it works. folks with special needs and consideration are allowed to use different entrances and accommodations. This is not a front of the line around everyone else pass... sometimes the special assistance entrances take longer, sometimes not. The no kidding really front of the line pass is reserved for WISH and GKTW for kids that are on limited time.

We used one for our dd who is autistic last year. We got a note from her ped and just showed it at guest relations at the first park we went to. When we went on rides (there wsn't many) or to see characters they led us to almost the front of the line. We are going at the end of the month and plan on getting another one for her. Everyone was very nice about and dd got to enjoy things.
