FYI to Orbitz-ers re: booking Bounceback

I've learned so much from these boards, thought I'd pass this info along.

Short version: If the CM tells you that you cannot book a bounceback because you booked through Orbitz, they are wrong. Ask for a manager or hang up and call again. Try to call x8844 from the room between 8am and 4pm weekdays - to get the "A" team - and definitely not when you are in a rush. To save time, book just for 1 person, then call back after you get home and add the rest. (When at home call (to add the other people in your room) the bounceback 800 number; don't call the regular reservation number - takes longer, and they'll just transfer you anyway.)

Long version.
Was at Pop last week (Jan. 10-17), booked room only (of course) through Orbitz ($67 a night, by stacking the Disney discount plus extra 15% off code from late 2014).

When I called x8844 to book the bounceback offer - from the room, in the middle of my week long stay - the CM couldn't 'find' my reservation. After 15 minutes with him I hung up and called again. The 2nd CM said (1) the reservation number wasn't mine (I had first given her the Disney confirmation # that starts with 4); and (2) when I gave her the Orbitz 6 alpha-numeric number, she said only people who booked through Disney could book the Bounceback. As we Orbitz-ers know, the reservation appears on their system as being booked by Orbitz (for example, our MagicBands initially have Orbitz's address for the shipping address). Note that my 'Guest Folio' at Pop with my many daily charges had my name all over it! (Disney DID know I was there at Pop.)

I knew she was wrong, so pressed on. It took another 30 minutes to book through her (its a room only bounceback; should have taken minutes!) because she had to set up my entire 'profile,' despite my dozen+ trips to Disney, using MDE for several trips, everything linked to my MDE, AP holder, etc. She insisted she couldn't link me to my existing profile - because the room I was in was booked through a TA (Orbitz). It was a painful, slow process, but I did book POFQ with a significant RO discount. Oh - and she misspelled my first name so when I tried to link the reservation to MDE, it let me do it but disputed that I was the lead guest. Ugh. So I had to call back again - and, being the lead guest, it took a manager to make the change. (Somehow she spelled my name correctly for the credit card charge, though! Just missed one letter on the room reservation.)
