I inquired my TA about split stay this week. What I learned however motivated me to start a new thread as it affects people on the DDP.

I inquired to see if we could switch to a split stay POR/AKL after booking for 10 days at POR on the DDP.

I would have to book 2 separate reservations with two separate park hopper tickets with two separate DDP reservations.

The only way around this to extend my 8 day park hopper pass over to AKL would be to book room only at AKL with no dining plan and another park hopper pass.

Basically you cannot carry over the DDP to a new hotel on the DDP and you also cannot carry over your park hopper pass either because they are a combined ressie. We could do it but it would increase our costs and never mind the potential headache.:headache:

So if you are a newbie like we are I thought I would pass this on so it may help with any Disney planning you are doing!

What you can do is for one of the reservations just buy a one day pass. Then you can get the pass that you really want for the other reservation. The one day pass doesn't expire and can actually be applied to a future ticket purchase if you don't want to use it as a one day pass.

We have purchased one day tickets with a package to get the dining plan since we already have annual passes. We then use the one day tickets to apply against the cost of the annual pass renewal.

That is exactly what our travel agent suggested....next time we go down that is probably what we will do...THANKS!:cool1:

Don't forget, book the full length pass with the first resort stay and the one day pass with the second resort stay. Generally you cannot pick up the pass until the stay it goes with begins.

(If you have enough leftover passes or have annual passes from the past, you can book one day passes with both resort stays.)
