FYI..Just got some info. regarding ME that might be helpful..

I preface this with, this was December 2009 & it was only one person, but.....

As I said it was December 2009, my brother had to delay his arrival by a couple of days from the rest of us. We had MVMCP tickets for the evening of his arrival. When he landed at MCO, he asked at Magical Express if he could please get on the bus to the Contemporary to meet up with us at the Magic Kingdom (it was already late afternoon). He had no carry-ons, & his checked bag made it to the room at POP (we were already checked in).

I understand this of course could have been as isolated incidence pixiedust:

Honestly, ME would be the least of my concern here. The timeline is just waaaay too tight to comfortably make that ADR.

….And why would you trust the CM? Why not just call ME directly? Aren't they the ones with the right answer? :moped:

Wow...so many variables and thoughts..trust me I always hedge my bets with Disney plans and now that you have to give a credit card for every ADR I am diligent in making sure I don't have any ADR I will not use.

Sometimes, as with many of us, logic just makes it seem so simple and "why not", but sometimes Disney logic is not our logic.

I totally understand why buses going back to airport need to confirm reservations and such as people need to get to airport in time for scheduled flights. but when arriving, there are so many variables as to when someone is actually going to get to ME...flight delays, airport shopping, eating, whatever.
As an onsite Disney guest we are entitled to ME service. Our luggage that is tagged goes straight to resort on separate shuttles and the luggage with us goes on bus with us. So I don't get what the issue is with having to go to your assigned resort. But alas who knows why or why not and as everyone has said my priority is a Chef Mickey meal and not having to pay for a missed ADR.

I always have back up plans - and though the first plan seems doable...it may not be totally feasible...but now I'm curious if what the CM told me is actually true. Maybe it's time to get direct phone # for ME to find out.

That probably would have been my first port of call. Speaking directly to ME. ME is not Disney owned so you're more likely to get accurate information directly from them. Let us know what they say.

Yes. To the resort where you have a room reserved. Magical Express is intended to get each of the thousands of guests arriving each day to their respective resorts. It's not customizable.

Neither does anyone else. But it has been that way since I personally first heard of it (and probably since before that), and if what the CM said is true, it is a big huge change to the system. A welcome one for many people, but it would be a total 180.
