I thought I knew it all with extending SW credits past their expiration date. I will review what I already knew:
Combine the credits into one, if you have more than one for the same person, BEFORE they expire. Once they expire, you can call and extend them for 6 months. You have a year from the expiration to do this, so time your call accordingly. They charge $75 per reservation for this, so obviously it is only an option for credits over $75. (they just deduct the $75 from the credit amount, you do not pay out of pocket the $$, you just get a lower credit, your balance less $75).
I did this today for my son. They email you a LUV voucher credit. What I did NOT know, was this. The SW employee told me that the LUV vouchers can be used by anyone, they have the original person's name on the voucher, but anyone can use them. I questioned her about this, a few times, and she kept assuring me that this was correct. It is a moot point for me, I will use DS's credit, for DS. (But I thought it was a good option, because sometimes I have lost credits for my kids, because they fly less often than me and my husband.)
