FYI...CRO will not let you add a 2nd room to your BB offer, after you check out!

We assumed since we had 2 adults in our room when we booked the bounceback deal this last April----that after we left WDW, we would be able to add on a 2nd room, if we wanted.

WRONG!:scared:

CRO won't let you do it. Now we need a 2nd room and are paying full price.:scared1:

They will let you change dates or resorts, if it's still available, after you check out.

I'm not trying to be argumentative here, but why would you think that having a 2nd adult in the room would mean that you'd have different benefits after you left than everyone else?

There are people who are quite upset to learn about Bounceback after they left because there was no flyer in their room telling them about it....I even saw a thread where someone knew enough to ask the front desk and was told no such offer existed this year.....they get home and read DIS and find out they were told wrong...but it's too late, you have to book this before you check out.

If you had enough information to book bounceback, why wouldn't you have booked the second room at the same time? Could it be that you came home and told family/friends about it and now they want to go along and so NOW you need a second room. I would think if it was for your family that you'd know at the time you booked the first room that you'd need a second??

It's obvious to me why Disney requires the "still checked in at the resort" rule and holds fast to it. Otherwise, hey, maybe I could call and say I was staying with John Doe in Room 123 and now I want to book bounce back too.

Since you CAN change resorts, perhaps you need to book into a suite somewhere that can accomodate your entire party? It may be cheaper than one discounted and one non-discounted. Plus, I'm guessing that you can't book any free dining for 2009 from home right now....so you'd have to wait now until the codes come out in approx April 2009 like the rest of us.

My sincere hope is that the bounceback offer will be made for those of us who are going during the "new" free dining in November/December. Now that will be cool. And once again I'll thank my lucky stars that I read DIS, because otherwise I wouldn't know to even look for such a flyer! :disrocks:

I was able to add a second room to my bb reservation at the POP. We had 2 adults and 2 12 yr olds in 1 room and thats a little too cozy so I added an extra connecting room.

That is a different situation - you weren't adding a second room for someone that didn't travel with you. You weren't making a new reservation.

ConnieB,

Tell me how you really feel!

Hee Hee, I think she did.....and I gotta say I agree with her. If you knew you needed a 2nd room why would you wait until you got home to try to book it? What changed?

Exactly! And booking it while you're there is the key....had PP tried to add on a 2nd room even if the occupants were going to be the teens that were there on the first trip.....won't happen. Once you check out and leave the resort the offer is gone. That's clear on the flyer, the TV blurb, and oft cited here on DIS.

I don't mean to hijack the thread but want to confirm a BB query.

If we book a BB when we are there, and we want to BB more than 1 room, do we need to leave a deposit on each room? I think yes, but want to double check. :)

We booked 2 rooms on the BB last week from the POFQ and had to pay $200 for each room.

Yes, and you can only book as many rooms as adults staying with you this year. :)

I was actually able to book my BB After we checked out and were at home!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

It was the same day. We had checked out early for an early flight that morning and were home before noon when I called. I didn't see a flyer in the room and kept meaning to ask or call but never did. I told the CRO the situation and she transferred me to a dept I had never heard of before and I'm sorry to say, can't remember now. I had to hold for almost 45 minutes but the original CRO kept checking back with me. When I finally got through I had to give my prior ressie number and all the info but they were happy to do it! Again, it was still very early on the day we checked out so maybe that had something to do with it.

I too tried to add a room to the BB ressie a week later and was told I could not. I also had to change the dates by a week and they were able to do it. I was told that I could not use my BB code past Oct. 1, 2009.

We booked a BB at POP (two rooms) and the CM who helped with the reservation pointed out that we could book another room if we wanted (for grandma, in-laws, etc.) but that it had to be done before we checked out.

Unfortunately, I too have learned the hard way to book what I think I'll need before I check out. You could try to see if Guest Services can do anything for you. They sometimes have leeway that CRO doesn't have. Also, I find it helps to call and keep calling.

We wanted to add one day to a reservation with a 40% off coupon. CRO kept telling me it was available but neither CRO nor Guest Services could do it. They kept telling me the offer had expired so even though the room was available at that rate, I couldn't have it. I persisted (took probably 10 calls) until I finally got someone in Guest Services who knew what she was doing. It took all of 30 seconds once I found a CRO with enough experience to understand what I wanted and how to book it in the computer. There is so much turnover at CRO and Guest Services that often I know more than they do.

You were entitled to book a room for each adult in your room before you checked out, so I assume you're trying to put one room in your name and one in your dh's. If not, tell them that's not a problem to book it that way. That is, you'll take dh off the room you have booked and make him the lead on the second room. Don't try to book the second room in the name of someone who wasn't with you on the trip that qualified you for the bounceback.

If that doesn't work, another poster's idea is a good one, too. Rather than two rooms, can you switch over with your bounceback discount to a larger room, or a two-bedroom DVC, or a Wilderness Cabin or a deluxe room at WL or BWI? You may find that it's more economical to do so, or that you'll pay the same price but at a nicer resort.

Good luck!

Actually, I was able to book the other room with a 40% off pin...so it all worked out the same in the end.

I just wanted to let others know that you can't add the 2nd room for the 2nd adult, after you check out.

I (wrongly) assumed since I could change resorts and dates after I was home--that I'd be able to add the room for DH, if it was needed.

The reason we didn't know if we needed a 2nd room was, we didn't know if our nephews would want to come with us...our treat.

We should have just booked the 2nd room, just in case, and we could have canceled it, no problem.

Oh, well. Maybe another DIS'er will learn from our mistake...at least we got the discount in the end.

We will book 2 rooms when we book BB in October.:wizard:

The offer is good to book until 10pm on the day of check out, or basically before the reservation office closes for that day. If you had call the next day they would have told you that you couldn't book it

FYI Only the travel agent dept. and the grand gathering dept. can book the bouncebacks. So if you call the regular phone number youll have to be transfered

Thats cause the travel trade and grand gathering agents are more specialized and better trained then the rest of CRO

Gosh - that one post was rather harsh.

I booked bounceback. It was only my husband and son on this trip, but I knew if we went next year we would have my mother, his mother and 2 daughters with us as well.

The cm said one room would have to be in my name and the other would have to be in my husbands name...so i said fine but them realized that I would have to put the $400 out. I was ok with the $200 but not so happy with the $400. So we put all the names on one reservation for the cabin.

Because of space issues, I changed it to a 2 bedroom at SSR.

BUT of course thats the oh yeah no problem option. But it will probably be more likely that we can only afford - if we can even afford it, the 2 rooms at a value.

So I haven't made changes yet but I was hoping...since all the names are on the reservation they would allow the split...I guess only time will tell.
