FYI August travelers...EMH hours changed slightly

I was just going over our itinerary plans, and thought to check WDW's website. Good thing.

MK's EMH's have changed for August. It looks like the reduction starts the week of the 14th. They dropped the Monday evening hours. The remaining EMH's are the same during our stay (14th - 17th), but double check yours, just in case.

Hopefully, they'll still have Spectro scheduled on the 15th, now that it's not an eEMH.

I was glad I checked this yesterday. We are re-arranging some PS's because the EE and parade schedule had changed during the 2nd week we're there.

It looks like they are expecting lower crowds for the week Aug 14-20. It makes sense. The free dining thing starts Aug 21. The only reason to go the week before is if you don't need/want the free dining (like us--DVCers who didn't need to book a package).

I was annoyed that they changed things (so then I had to change some scheduled items) but if it means fewer people, that's ok with me!

I just noticed the morning EMH for Epcot is now listed for Sunday, August 7 instead of Monday, August 8 yet all other EMH mornings at Epcot are on Monday. Also, there is evening EMH noted for both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom on Monday, August 8.

I just send an e-mail to Disney.

I'm still thinking the week of Aug. 21st... even though the free dining starts, it will be slow. Especially when looking at their EMH's AND park hours. Notice Animal Kingdom especially closing at 5pm and MGM closing and fantasmic starting at 8:30pm

a poll on disboards doesn't really tell me much about this... because most of us on disboards KNEW about the free dining plan. A lot of other regular disney fans had no idea this was even going on for a period of time. Even if they visited disneyworld.com to look around, they may have missed it in the bottom of the corner therefore I would expect a lot of us here on this board to vote we are going during that time.

Same for Aug 1st. And there is no EMH morning @ EPCOT for the entire week July 30 - Aug 5. I hope this is just a misprint!

Pink...EMH morning at Epcot is now Sunday, July 31. So, for the week starting on Saturday, July 30, Epcot has three EMH opportunities: AM on Sunday, PM on Monday and Thursday.

Now if they'll adjust the MK schedule to stay open a little later throughout that week (& add a double helping of Spectro), I think we'll have a perfect summer schedule!

I just checked the calendar on the boards today against the calendar I printed on June 4th and the only change that I noticed (while I am there) was on the the 16th where disney added a EMH/Evening at AK. The MK hours are the same. Where are you seeing these changes at MK?

The day that threw my schedule off is no EMH on the 15th. We're doing a split stay & it would have been nice to be at the Polynesian. We're already booked for FDP on the 17th.

I'm going to check again this morning to see if anything else changed.
