FYI - Annual Power Pass & Season Pass

Whoever sold them to me took my name and mailing address and I do not live in Florida...Why tell people that they are for anyone if they are not. I gave my mailing address and billing address in Louisiana...I would think that my address would be a red flag. Well, I will see in a few days...I mean the worst they could do would be to exchange them for the 7 day unlimited ones right?
I even called twice...the first time I asked about getting them from Ticketmaster, thats when she told me they were for anyone and the blackout dates were lifted. I didnt have my credit card that day. I called back 2 days later and inquired about it again, it could have been the same girl, though, I doubt it. She took all my info and no questions were asked by her even though I gave her a Louisiana address. I will post again Sunday night to let you know what happened, for all of you who have questions.

Jillybeene, you should be fine. Just redeem your annual pass at Guest Services Will Call window rather than the ticket booths. Guest Services is on the far right hand side at both parks right before you get to the turnstiles.

Hi All-
I purchased a ticketmaster 2 day-2park ticket for my youngest child before we went on vacation. Last week before I left the park I upgraded the ticketmaster ticket to a season pass. The pass expires Dcember 31, 2009. It states it right on the pass. The window agent asked me to write down my son's name and address (we do not live in florida) and then went on to tell me that all blackout days had been lifted. We did this on Wednesday, June 24.

BTW We have visited this at this time of year for many years- this year was the least crowded I have ever seen the Universal Orlando parks. Disney on the other hand was hell. We were much more relaxed at Universal.

I had no problem getting my tickets this morning...I went to the kiosk in US and swiped my cc and the confirmation number and out came 5 tickets. no human interaction needed, so no questions asked. I called the AP office and bought them online, they emailed me a con # and went to the kiosk...easy as pie!!!
Gotta love universal.

Yup...electronic pickup is usually the way to go.

Just got back from a 10-day vacation in Orlando...4 days of water parks, 4 days of Universal parks, and 2 days at the pool with sun, fun and BBQ...These trips always make me wonder why we don't move there.

Anyway, we strolled right up to the the ticket window, and stated that we would like to purchase Season Passes, but we were not Florida residents..."No problem, that requirement has been lifted for the remainder of the year". The ticket agent also informed us that "black-out dates had also been lifted for the remainder of the year, and that they were now good until Dec. 31st".

I asked about upgrading to the Annual Power Pass...No problem at all, just has to be done before the tickets expire, and it has to be done at the park. Looks like we might have to spend the extra $50 bucks during our upcoming Thanksgiving trip, which would provide tickets for next year's June vacation.

I tried multiple times to verify the "Season Pass/Florida Resident" issue over the phone while driving to Orlando. On every occasion, guest services was unaware of the change to the resident policy. Each time I asked if they could check with the ticket booths at the parks, and every time they came back and said that yes the policy had been changed. I'm not sure why everyone's not on the same page at guest services, but you can definately buy the season pass at the park's ticket booths, even if you are not a Florida resident. I'm not sure about our overseas friends, however.

For awhile certain APs had to be processed at Guest Services. The only ones that were from the kiosk were those who had flexpay. But now most of the APs can be picked up at the kiosk except for Premier AP.

What about season tickets purchased in January? Have the blockout dates been lifted from these tickets or would I need to purchase new tickets to visit the parks during the summer?

Call 407 224-4233 and choose option 9 to speak to a Guest Service representative. (Do not choose any of the other options available--just speak directly to a guest service coordinator.) They can tell you for sure.

Just received a call from US/IOA and was informed my season tickets purchased in January are good throughout the year. No blockout dates. YAY!!! I feel another trip to Orlando coming on.
