We will be arriving at the FW Campgrounds on Friday, Jan 3rd, most likely after dark. I'm not the greatest at backing up my 5th wheel in broad daylight, never mind at night. Are there folks there to assist in backing up into the RV Sites?
I had major neck surgery eight months ago, doing very well now, but haven't had a vacation since then. However, due to my neck fusion, I cannot turn my head while backing up. Needless to say, we are really looking forward to our two weeks at the campground! And I don't want to start out by having an accident backing into the camp site...... Will anyone be there that evening, whom I can contact ahead of time to assist me? :confused3

1) This assumes you have a booked site on January 3rd.
2) FW personnel can assist you in backing into your site, but will not back for you.
3) Too much liability.
4) You should be OK with them guiding you.

DougY, we will be arriving at the Fort on the 2nd, in our 5th wheel. My husband and myself, and in a 2nd 5th wheel, our daughter, and son in law, with three kids. We are Dairy Farmers from SWWisconsin, used to driving tractors, machinery, cattle trailers, etc If you private message me, we will be more than happy to help. Friday is our down day, DTD, granddaughter doing Bippoty Bop, then back early evening. We love the Fort.

PM sent, tnx very much!

It can be nerve racking, but practice practice practice. I just moved from a monaco pusher to a 5th wheel. I love the extra space, but now im back on the learning curve. I got good with the motorhome and could park it with little outside guidance just be placing a flashlight to show my "landing path" and using the rear camera and mirrors. With the 5th wheel, the landing path works well, but I need a spotter and some patience as I retrain my mind that this is not my little race trailer or 5x10.

Its not in the budget right now, but I have considered adding a rear facing camera to help with spotting. So far I have not had issues getting to campsites, but last sunday night getting into my storage spot took 3x as long as it did during daylight which at its best was twice as long as it took me with the motorhome. I will get the hang of it over time, that much im sure of.
