FW newbie, cabin questions...

Hi there! We depart for WDW on 10/29, staying with friends until 10/31 when we check in to a cabin at the fort. This is our first visit to the Fort (since my husband camped there as a child).

So a couple of newbie questions -
What loops are the cabins on? (I know, this seems silly but I can't find a definitive answer anywhere) Is it worthwhile to put in a request for a certain loop if I do online checkin before we arrive?

If we are hoping to save money by not renting a golf cart, how feasible is this? We are a family of 5 with a double stroller and kids aged 2, 4 and 6. If we can do an offsite golfcart rental we may try it, but renting from Disney is a budget breaker. We would rather be able to eat and feed the kids instead of get from point a to point b a little faster!

Have a great vacation.
2100 thru 2800 are cabins. I don't know about a specific loop. I would ask to be close to the bus stop without a GC.

We stayed in the cabins with a 5yo and 6 mo old a long time ago. We stayed in the 2500 loop in one of the cabins right across from the bus station. Out the door, across the yard and cross the street is the bus station. An added bonus is the pool is close by for additional bathrooms.
