I've not been to disney, planned to go over Easter staying in FW; however, have the opportunity to change a planned vacation for July 27 into August. Know its going to be hot hot hot, but any recommendations on the time this summer vs. easter vacation in 08'. Summer would be 2 kids ages 4 & 6, Easter would include significant other's 15 yr old son & a friend.

Are you tenting..or do you have an RV that you will be staying in? Or is it the cabins?...I think this would play greatly into my decision whether to camp or not in August. While we've been to Disney many times in August(although May is our favorite time of year)..you are correct it is very hot. However we are somewhat acclimated to the heat as it's hot in NY at that time also.(although not nearly as humid!) I know I would not tent camp in August. Thats me personally. We do have a travel trailer, and given the opportunity I would use that in August. Airconditioning being the key. I have stayed in the FW cabins in August.
I've never been to Disney during the April/Easter breaks..and personally from what I've read about the crowds....I'd prefer the August trip as long as it included having airconditioned sleeping accomodations, and as long as it isn't an issue that the 15 year old and friend won't make the trip.;)

Camping in Pop-up - no air.... having only the little one's takes some burden off trying to plan for such varying activities as the 15 yr old is very dependant and reluctant to go off on his own.

Not so sure I'd do August without air. :confused3 That's just me. Especially considering that you will also experience heavy afternoon thunder showers pretty much on a daily basis.
It's sort of tough choice..because crowds in the parks are at their peak during the Easter time period. FW is probably a good choice during that time..as it is a respite from the craziness. I have a 16 year old son..and( and a couple more that have been through that age!) generally find that if you bring a friend they are apt to do more . I would think especially in FW...there are plenty of spots for them to bike to and enjoy without you having to supervise. They are also just a water launch away from the MK...very often they enjoy that bit of independence if they are with a friend, they feel like big shots...and aren't as insecure as they might be going it alone.

we went last week of July into Aug LAST SUMMER. wE Were in a pop up with no air - and did survive. We had some fans that was okay. The only tough part was sleeping. trying to fall asleep and stay asleep when it was so hot hot was difficult. We are going again this July though - in a cabin :rolleyes1
