FW camping questions

Hi, My family and I are coming down again in Feb. With the airline tickets being so high, we are thinking of renting an RV and Booking FW. Do you all think that we would need to rent a car also? Would bikes be OK to use. Does FW have bike parking or things like that at the boat dock or other places.
I know I would have to look into reservations very soon, can we cancel with no penalties if needed?

Last Question! Why do you think it is worth renting an RV to stay at FW for 5 nights.
Thanks :yay:

Sounds like something a camping trip could cure!

Bikes are great at the Fort racks all over. You wouldn't need a rental car as long as you didn't want to leave the property. you can cancel room only 6 days prior without penalty and packages 45 days prior. Another option is driving your car down and renting a rv from one of these links who will set up at the fort for you, saving gas $. You may want to stop and pick up supplies before arrival the Fort stores are a bit pricey.

Those are good links and advice from previous poster.

We have rented RV's twice and driven to FW from Houston. It was expensive but worth is to us as we stopped in Destin FL for a few days and did some other stuff on the way there and back.

With fuel prices where it is right now I am not planning any RV rentals in the near future.

There is merit in the suggestion to drive your car down and have a trailer set up for you (don't see the point of an RV as it will be stationary for the most part).

Have you considered pricing a cabin at FW? They are expensive but have the added benefit of not needing to be set up.......just show up and start inhaling pixie dust. :thumbsup2

Needless & shameless boast....

We will be at FW in exactly 33 days and are bookending our stay in VWL with 4 nights in the cabins at FW (2 before and 2 after)..........ah, bliss.....
