FW cabins advice

Is it really big enough for 6 people (2 are kids)? Is there a better option, need kitchen? Can you drive right to your door? Thanks

It probably depends on if you're all family. The cabins are wonderful but they are little bit close quarters. There is one bedroom which has a full sized bed and a set of bunk beds (great for the kids).

There is a murphy bed in the living room (which is a full sized bed). There is a small sofa in the living room as well which could sleep one person. There is enough room around the kitchen table for 6 easily. The kitchen is a nice size. There is also a deck with a picnic bench (and a grill).

It will be a little tight for 6 people but it is doable and many families of 6 stay at the cabins. There is only 1 bathroom though.

You can park one car right out front of the cabin but you can only drive in and out of the campground with the car. You can take the internal buses to pick up the park buses or the boat at the marina to go to MK or the CR. The other option is to rent a golf cart which is very convenient.

The is the best option for the money, you can't beat it anywhere on WDW property. The DVC properties would be the next choice, especially OKW but it will cost more. Check out the DVC board if you think it might be a little tight at the cabins (you might even get a better value with 2 cabins right next to each other depending on what the DVC resorts are going for).

We stayed in a Wilderness Cabin with 5 people (Me,my 19 yo son,his girlfriend,and My 2 -5 yo nieces.)The only tight part was suitcases,as I needed them available,it seemed at all hours and that was not always convenient.The Bathroom was no problem,as we had a golf cart,and if we all needed to get ready at the same time,we could have gone to a bathroom take a shower,but that never happened.I'm up really early-I would go out on the deck so I didn't wake my son and his gf up,and they were great-if i got them up a half hour before we were ready to leave,they were both showered and ready when I was.The twins were usually up before them so I got them ready while Adam and Amy were showering.It worked out well,we had camped at FW before,but this was the best of both worlds.we had a great time.If anyone has any questions,let me know.Sue

I have stayed in the cabins quite a few times, usually with 5 or 6 people. I always advise any large group to ask for loop #2100, Bobcat Bend. This is the only cabin loop that backs right up onto a regular camping loop. This means the "Comfort Station" -- the camper bathroom/shower building -- is a short walk away. This is a great backup for the bathroom. Many mornings my Dad would head off to the Comfort Station while the rest of us showered and got the kids dressed. These facilities are air-conditioned and spotless.

Fort WIlderness is lovely. Have fun!

The cabins are very nice, but I think that the murphy beds in the living rooom can be hit or miss. Some people have posted that they're comfortable for sleeping, others have said they're not. The one in our cabin wasn't very comfortable to us, and thankfully we didn't have to use it for sleeping. It was great to have the full kitchen for meals, and the peacefulness of the area was so nice to come back to after a day in the parks.

We stayed in the cabins with 3 adults and 1 child. My personal opinion is that I would not have wanted to squeeze another adult in there (a child might have been doable). It all depends on your preferences. I am not a person who likes to be crowded. Try to imagine 6 people sharing a one bedroom efficiency apartment. If you can see yourself doing that, then you'll be fine.

Have you considered renting points from a DVC member and getting a 2 bedroom villa? Depending on what time of year you're going, the cost may be similiar or not much more. If you did that, you would have room enough for dancing!

We stayed in a cabin last year with 6 adults and really were not overly cramped. We all had room for our suitcases and even had room for the pile of souveniers (and what a pile that was!). With the bathroom, as long as you don't mind someone else in there brushing their teeth while you are showering or if you have some people who shower at night and some during the day, there really are no problems that we had.

I would advise you to drive if you can since it is much much faster than taking the internal bus system around.
