FW Cabin Info

We will be staying there for the first time over Thanksgiving. Doing a split stay with OKW. We will be driving, but have yet to use our car once we get there, except for a trip to the grocery store. We do have golf cart reserved so hopefully we will do fine. I am excited about trying the cabins out!

you are not permitted to use the Wilderness Lodge pools. The WL is not a sister resort to Fort Wilderness.

But we're staying at Ft. Wilderness Lodge, so we can use either pool, hehehe.

Stayed from 19th to 26th Dec last year and I loved it. The cabins were big enough for the 3 of us. The decorations that some people had were amazing. we came from London so couldn't take anything with us.
We had a car until 23rd so drove to the parks most of the time but did use the bus to DTD a couple of times. Had a golf cart so we just parked at the bus stop. I thought it was a little isolated at night and would have been a real pain without the golf cart. I felt that it was just too dark to walk to the camp fire for instance.
Was disappointed with the pools as no slides. They were nice and warm though. A real surreal experience for us Londoners swimming outside in December with Frank Sinatra singing Christmas songs in the background.
We are staying at SSR this year mainly so my 7 year old son will have the pool to play in but I wouldn't hesitate to return to FW
