Any suggestions though for a 6 and 8 year old? (We do not have theme park tickets, and I don't think they like beer.)
Nothing to stop you from using the pool in the rain (hey, wet's wet!) or hanging out at the beach and playing in the sand.... um... mud. (adults can hide under an umbrella with the beer

When we were kids the coolest thing ever was when our parents would let us go out and play IN the rain. Stomping through puddles??? Best thing EVAH!

And one of my favorite memories was when I was about 7 and we were camping in our popup in Mass. on July 4th. It POURED!! As in 'can't see 10 feet in front of you'. The campground had their own fireworks, so my parents outfitted us with "trashbag ponchos" and we sat under umbrellas and tried to make out the fireworks. We thought it was so cool!

Ooh - and you can fish in the rain too!

ok, yeah, all my suggestions involve getting wet...
