Future World Misfit

Last June, the “Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage” opened in Disneyland, California. Disney Imagineers have revived this classic 1959 Disneyland attraction and added Finding Nemo to it. The problem? Walt Disney World has ended up with a Finding Nemo attraction in Epcot, “The Seas with Nemo and Friends,” that has no submarines. Instead, it has Clamshell ride vehicles called Clamobiles. Comparing the two, what would you rather ride now, Little Mermaid clams or submarines? For those of you who think there is nothing wrong with riding the Clamobiles, think again. Epcot’s philosophy represents teaching about and showcasing the future, and “The Seas with Nemo and Friends” is located in the Future World section of the park. Visit Epcot, and you’ll notice that all of the other attractions in Future World have futuristic and/or conventional ride vehicles, but not the Seas ride. Although Disney is trying to make money for the sake of the Disney/Pixar films, an attraction should fit into the theme of a park. If you have kids, show them this article and ask them what they prefer to ride.

Actually, I like riding in the clam-mobiles!! You're right about the Nemo ride being totally out of place in Epcot's Future World, though. I know that they were just trying to jazz up the aquarium but..... . I think it's just as strange that the Finding Nemo musical at AK is in Dinoland! I think that AK should have an underwater-themed area. That would be a better place for the Nemo ride (as well as the Finding Nemo musical and the Turtle Talk with Crush show). Who's with me on this?

I completely agree! It definitley seems like they have placed this ride in the wrong land. Heck- they've placed this ride in the wrong park!! Maybe moving it to Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland would better suit the nature of this ride.
