Future of Star Tours?

Like everybody else I'm super excited for the new Star Wars land that has just been announced! This is huge! What do you think is going to happen to Star Tours at Disneyland and WDW? Debate away!

My predictions: I think they will move the one at DLR to be closer to the rest of the new Star Wars Land which will go where Toon Town is now. I think they will leave it where it is at DHS. They may improve the movie quality of both, but they are both pretty newly updated. Plus, I don't really see too much room for improvement.

WDW's has a bigger chance of surviving if it's really close to the land itself. The DL version is trickier... From the size of SW land, I think it's safe to assume that it will be built where Toontown currently is. There are three possibilities:

1. They re-theme Star Tours to a different property (for example the Ironman ride being built in Hong Kong) or simply build a whole different attraction.
2. They move the attraction all the way to SW land (which I'm not really sure about).
3. They leave it where it is, which could be a little problematic thematically wise.

It will need upgrades to match the new time period it will be set in. I can't imagine that DHS will want anymore closings.

Well they've announced an addition to the scenes in Star Tours so I don't see it leaving any time soon.

It will no doubt stay. It's not going anywhere. However, the exterior will probably get a major overhaul. To fit into the theme of the area, the Ewok forest and AT-AT walker will probably be gone. Hopefully the AT AT will be moved elsewhere!

I'm sure the only requirement for the planning of these 2 lands is that Star Tours has to remain where it is. It would cost too much to tear it down and move it.

They will add some news scenes inside and that'll be it.

I think with DHS, launche bay is throwing people off. I believe Launch Bay is a non-permanent addition just for the time being. Launch bay will br axed or moved and Star Wars land will be built in the area around Star Tours including Streets of America and possibly Indiana Jones and some surrounding Echo Lake areas. There is also the rummored expansion area that is currently backstage CM buildings, CM parking and the old parade float barn.

SO - there is no news on this but I will put up my opinion:

1) It is unlikely they will remove it from either park.
2) At DHS - Star Wars land will be built in the same area that Star Tours is already located. There's a good chance they will keep it there - and likely will require some rethemeing of the exterior but I suspect it will stay.
3) At DLR - Star Wars land is NOT going in Toontown as some posters above stated (admittedly this was all before it was announced). However, it is going behind Frontierland/Critter Country - probably actually will be accessed through the back of Fantasyland. As such Star Tours won't be "moved". The cost of doing this would be silly. There's a good chance they will just leave it where it is for the time being.
4) It is possible that they close one of both of them. However, they are popular rides and easy to upgrade as shown by the 2.0 and recent Force Awakens add-ons. There's little doubt in my mind we will see them remain the place.

Rumored? Toy story land is confirmed and will go mainly backstage.

I agree. The only one I could possibly see going away is Disneylands being that it's in a different area from where the new land will be. I think DHS's is very safe.

Rummored is the up front portion. Costuming, guest relations back office (so the people who respond to all emails sent to the guest relations email), as well as the old parade barn are all up fromt. Some believe even cast parking is going away and being reworked for The DHs reimagineering.

Yes cast parking is supposed to get work.
