With all of the people vowing not to return to WDW because of:
  • Prices
  • Lack of APs
  • Lack of dining plans
  • Politics
  • Reservation requirements
  • Lightning lanes
  • “Lack of magic”
is anyone else kind of hoping some of these people actually do what they threaten and stay away? I’ll be honest, I’d love to see the crowds thinned a bit.

Very few people are vowing not to return to WDW. And most of those who are will return soon.

But yes, I'm hoping most actually do what they threaten and stay away. It's always nice when the crowds are tinned a bit.

September of 2020 was glorious!

I doubt they will be lower. For all of the people that are saying they'll never visit the parks again, there are hundreds of people willing to take their place and absolutely do not care about the changes. The parks are as busy as they were pre pandemic, maybe even more so. Demand is still incredibly high and what you see on these forums and other Disney centric discussion sites are not really representative of the average guest.

I am curious to see how Epic Universe will impact Disney attendance when that opens in 2025. Personally I plan on skipping WDW and checking it out.

People have been saying this for years, yet Disney just keeps getting more crowded.

The only thing that will truly reduce crowds is a recession that affects the middle and upper-middle class, similar to the housing crash in 2007-2008. All the pandemic did was allow those people to save a years worth of vacation money to spend in late 2021 and 2022. Source: My situation.

Very interesting to see this list in one place! Someone also mentioned recently not going because of constant ride breakdowns. And let’s not forget lack of housekeeping. One persons testimonial turned into a several page thread on that topic. People have had it with the cleaning inconsistencies.

I don’t see fewer people going. If you look at the overall trend of the past twenty years (the time period that we have been going two or three times a year), crowds have increased every year.

When DD19 was a baby, crowds were literally non-existent. Mostly every attraction was a walk on or a short wait. We did not go during holidays, just FWF and a random week or a few days here and there. When we look at pictures from back then it’s amazing how few people are in the background.

I see crowds continuing to increase. New people to Disney don’t know what it used to be like, so they don’t know what they are missing.
