Fussy eater - need help

So even though we aren't going away until next April I still have my weekly time when I decide to put a little bit of holiday planning in to the schedule to liven up the time between now and when we go

This weeks thing was menus and here lies the problem

Our DS will be 12 when we go so before him being a proper fussy eater wasn't a problem as we could just order off the kids menu but this year is proving to be more of a challenge

We are going for our DD's 16th birthday so wanted to eat at some of the nicer restaurants , walts auberge etc but I know my son would hate everything on the menu

Can he still order a childs meal or can we ask for a plainer meal maybe ??

At table service restaurants, no. BUT they will not ask for proof of age if you order a childs meal. I know, I've done it! My son was 12, not a picky eater though, and it was a buffet. Yup, I'm a rebel. But at a table service as long as he doesnt have a beard or speak like a caveman, I don't see a problem.
CS you can order anything though and I will often have a kids meal.
