Fur Real Friends are the Cabbage Patch Kids of 2002

DD will be 8 on December 1 and has just said she'd love one of these for either her birthday or Christmas. She wants a real cat too but that's another story. She's not one to ask for much so I'd really like to get her one but they're nowhere to be found in RI.

I've tried the major toy websites but all say unavailable, and I watched one sold on ebay today for over $70.00 (retail price is $29.99)

Has anyone been lucky enough to find them....or have heard anything about availability before Christmas?

Try going to Toys R Us as soon as they open in the morning. Thats when the shelves are full with them if they have any available.

Right now they don't open early enough for me to do that and still make it to work. I'm going to keep trying but I figured I'd see if anyone had heard anything specific about these critters.

My niece wants one of these and the two Toys R Us store near me told me to try Tuesday Afternoon since the trucks come on Tuesday morning and they need to unload them. Guess I will go right after work and hope for the best.

I am so glad I have my 2 Fur Real Kitties for my kids!! LOL My DH bought them for them!!

I remember waiting in line for a Cabbage Patch Kid (for me!) but up to now I've never done anything extraordinary to find a popular toy for my kids (Tickle Me Elmo, Power Rangers, Pokemon cards, Razor scooters, Playstation 2, beanie babies)

For now I guess I'll be a regular at the local stores on delivery day....with my fingers crossed!

I bought mine about a month ago and convinced my friend to buy one for her dd too- I told her "these will be the toy nobody can find" Sorry you are having such a hard time......

My daughter is so easy-going this is the first she's even mentioned it. I've asked her several times what she'd like for her b-day & Christmas but she never really had anything specific 'till now. I think that's why I'd really like to find one.

I have friends in other states and I've alerted them too so I'm hopeful.

I used the buy it now feature on e-bay to get 2 of them for about $42.00 each. I just don't have much time that I am without my girls to go searching so I paid the premium.

I think Beauty on these boards said that her Walmart had lots of them. I don't have a Walmart around here, but maybe one of your friends does. Good luck.

Woo-hoo! I was really worried and I spread the word to all my family members to be on the look-out. Saturday morning I got a call from my Mom in Illinois on her cell phone. "What was the name of that cat she wanted?" "Oh they just put a whole bunch of those out" This was in a Toys R Us.
So we got our white Fur Real friend for my DD, she'll be happy, and I'm relieved LOL This toy searching stuff is new to me! LOL

Yes about a week ago our Wal-Mart had about 20 of them....I'm going back tonight and if they have any more I'll pick up a couple and post that I have them.

DD saw this cat and asked for it. I did not realize at the time it was a "hot" item. Bummer. I hate trying to find these type of toys!

I have seen TONS AND TONS of them up here in Canada!! I should sell some on ebay. LOL!!!!!! What are the 'hot' colours?

I've noticed that many of the people selling these on eBay are from Canada....so that's where they all ended up!

I know of 3 colors: grey, white and calico.

I went to the birthday party of a friend's daughter a couple of weeks ago and she mentioned the tough time she had finding one so I bought one on Amazon right away. Luckily DD wanted the gray one.
