funny video: kids not excited about trip to Disney World

Wow, Dick's house must be some pretty exciting place!

Hilarious... thanks for sharing!

Not so much as they are ungrateful kids, but a lesson in "managing expectations".

Sometimes going the surprise route is just not the right way to go.

Very true. Maybe she did not know her kids that well. Especially for the young boy. If they have never been maybe she could have shown them each fun things (geared specifically to their age groups and interests) that they would have to look forward to.

Still a funny video though! :happytv:

Especially after a long drive I am not surprised kids were cranky... lesson number 1 for the parent :lmao:;)

Wow. Just...wow. I really don't know what to say about that. I would have been jumping all around like a nutcase if I was one of those kids.

Maybe they really didn't know about Disney, but the two boys looked old enough to know what Disney World was!

Guess Dick's house must be one awesome place... :confused3

I find this hysterical because my kids had just about the same reaction when we suprised them with a cruise one morning. Ironically, one of mine is also named Cam. He was in tears because he was missing Soccer Camp and was supposed to play his friend's team that day.:confused3 I learned never to surprise my kids again!

We don't know who Dick is, he must be a very cool guy since both boys want to see him. :confused3

On the other hand my son (almost 6) was crying the other night because we aren't going to Disney world until February.

I personally would just drop them off at Dick's house and go by myself! :rotfl:

lolol my friend just did this with her kids. They told them they were going to Naples to visit their cousins and decided to go spend a few days at Disney. They drove all night and about 6 am got into Orlando woke the kids up and they cried they wanted to go to their cousins. They check into the hotel put the info channel on and they pick the water parks...they go to MK for one day and the second day the kids want to stay and go in the pool. So they swim and pack it up and head to Naples....

i can 'kind of' understand where the kids are coming from. We are all disney freaks so it doesnt make sense to us. Maybe her kids dont know too much about Disney so they dont know how truly great it is. And maybe they had been planning to go see that other family for a long time and the kids had built up in their head all the fun things they were going to do with him. If for months and months you were told you were going to Dicks house, and you have been imagining all of the Fishing, hiking, skateboarding, swimming or whatever, it might have been disappointing to find out you will not be doing any of that. im SURE once they were at WDW they had a great time. I dont think there will be too many surprises in that family again !! haha

These are actually my kids. This was a couplke months after my ex-wife ( the Disney Baby voice) and her sister (the I told you so voice) had told my kids they were going to a friend of ours house in the white mountains. They were aware at the time that I had booked a trip for me and the kids to go 2 months from when this was shot. They reaction was a mix of over tired and that they were looking forward to going to the cabin as they knew they would be in Disney in a couple weeks with me. Everyone wants to say they are spoiled brats but when you know the back story you can see they are really the exact opposite. They did have a great time during this trip and again with me 2 months later when they returned.

Let me say I didn't think that at all. I think most of the people saying that most likely don't have kids. I can totally understand how that would happen with children that age and when you are trying to surprise them and they are thinking they are going elsewhere. If you ask my 5 yo where she wants to go, her favorite place is great wolf lodge. Glad you had fun, don't worry about the misplaced comments.

What I really hate is the anger I hear in the mother's voice. She planned this and was disappointed, I get it. But first of all, they were driving all night and looked really tired. Clearly they did not share their mom's joy for Disney. That is not their fault. Some people aren't Disney lovers.:confused3 No really. There are some out there. It's sad to think of the money and planning that went into this. I hope the mom reigned it in and after some decent sleep they all had a great time at Disney...or Dick's house! :flower3:

We took our middle-school aged dds to Disney and they were underwhelmed. We live near Cedar Point and they had pictured it as one big amusement ride after another. Maybe I talked it up too much. For whatever reason, they wanted to spend more time at the pool than at the parks. Could have saved a lot of money and gone to Cedar Point. :rotfl: Were they ungrateful? No. They just had opinions of their own. They weren't sulky or hard to get along with, we did actually have lots of fun. Just not their favorite place to be. Hard to imagine for me, but there it is!
