Funny PANTS story

So I spent 20 minutes picking out pants today before work. I was trying to look good (I got a thing for the security gaurd). So I get the jeans on and look great! There my favorite jeans. So I get to work (EARLY EVEN!!!!) and use the restroom. Theres a sting hanging from my knee brace so I pull it and snap it off. So I head to my first classroom of the day, The nursery. I sit down and RIPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP out goes the seam, from the TOP down. So theres a huge chuck of skin showing (totally inapproate). Well, the two teachers start LAUGHING at me as I penguin walk to the bosses office. I tell her I have a little problem, show her and ask if any of the teachers have extra clothing in there room. I give her credit, she didnt laugh. She was so nice about it she gave me her shorts out of her gym bag. But... By the time I moved on to the next classroom (a half hour latter) EVERYONE in the center knew (11 teachers and three animinstrators). So Embarassing

Oh well, maybe the security guard will think it's a cute story. *****ETA : clarification - when I said that, I didn't mean it wasn't a cute story, I meant maybe it will endear you to the security guard if he thinks it's a cute story. I don't want you to think I'm part of the snarky crowd on here.

Keep a sewing kit in your desk or locker. I'm sure most offices have one. Everywhere I've worked has had one to borrow from someone. Head to the ladies room and start sewing.

In a real pinch, a stapler works good also. I've stapled many hems in my days.

Just part of life. I guess that's why she didn't laugh. I think its only funny when you are in elementary school.

OP, your story sounds embarassing! I'm glad you were able to get a change of clothes.
And for the record, I've never worked in an office that has a sewing kit...but carrying one might not be a bad idea.

If that happened at my work we'd all be joking about it. "Remember the day x came to work without Pants?" or "gee, you're wearing pants today, good job!" I'm amazed at those who don't think this would be an embarassing funny story at their workplace. They must have REALLY exciting jobs!

So? I guess I'm still missing why you wouldn't sew it. Especially if they are your great looking jeans. The ones you thought you looked the best in.

If you can't sew, dry cleaners have people who do repairs. Cheaper than buying another pair of pants.
