I hate shopping. I have never been out on Black Friday. I laugh at all the people who do the midnight run. This year I am being forced to join the craziness. My DD has everything planned out. Do 12 year old girls really make plans with their girlfriends to go shopping at midnight? I guess they do. :scared1:;)

My DD14 and all of my nieces love Black Friday shopping. We will be out early, hitting Starbucks, lunch out, and taking care of most of the Christmas shopping. It's become a really fun tradition.

I'm also not a shopper but it's fun with DD and the upside is that I knock it all out in one day.

My DD13 is already making plans to go too. She has been going with me for the last 4 years. It started that Wal-mart had a 52 inch projection TV that we all were like, wow that would be nice. She was determined that we had to go get it so her Dad told her if she got up and got us up we'd go. Well, she got up @ 3, woke me up and off we went.

One year she wanted a PSP bundle at Target and they were sold out so she actually haggled the guy who worked in electronics to give her a different psp bundle pack, plus the games and movies that came with the original bundle and 10% off. How could I tell her no after all that work, lol :rotfl:

My daughter loves it so we'll go this year just to get a few things then get breakfast. It's fun for us both and we get to spend the day together

Aww, you guys make it sound so nice. I have nightmares about some crazy guy the size of a linebacker running us over. ;)

It depends on where you go. Most places the people are pretty civil, atleast here. It's just kind of exciting to "hunt" for your items.

Wal-mart has been staying open so you can get there at anytime that morninig and scope out your "prey" A lot of it is wrapped up so you can't grab it until the official sale time but atleast you know where it is. It's nice cause it gets cold up here!

In that case, avoid Wal Mart until the first wave is over. In years of doing this, it's the only store where I've ever seen things get ugly. Wal Mart just can't seem to get things organized and running smoothly.

Tiny little town here, walmarts not so bad (ours is 24 hour so you stake out your pallet). weve gone every year since I was 15 but were so out this year. I just dont have the desire, Might do a little afternoon shopping since we will be in the big city (cleaning my former aparment)

DD and I have been doing this for years, since she was 8 years old! The only years that we have missed, were the years that we went to WDW for Thanksgiving.
We get up super early and we are usually standing outside the store by 4 am, waiting to get in. We go over the ads on Thanksgiving Day, make a plan, hit the stores, snag the deals and then eat breakfast. At that point, she decides if we head home or go back to the stores. It is one of our best days of the year! She is 15 1/2 this year and I asked if she would like to invite someone to go with us this year. Her reply, "No...I like it with just us. It's more fun that way!" :goodvibes

We went a couple of years ago...started at Walmart and then headed to the mall. I was waiting outside the Hollister fitting room for my dd and her friend and looked at my watch... 7:30 am! Felt like it was night already!

How many moms of teens could say their dd wants to hang out with just her? Great job, mom! Enjoy! :dance3:

I have always shopped on Black Friday. It used to be a tradition for me and my mom but as she has gotten older she doesn't want to try it so its just been me for a few years. Now DD is 12 and wanting to go with me. I am really excited!! A new beginning on an old tradition!

The only thing she was worried about was me not buying her gifts on that day. I told her, look at this way, you can pick out exactly what clothes you want to find under the tree!
