Apparently the Midwest consists of East North Central and West North Central

My mom is originally from North Dakota (we're in CA), and she used to always tell people she was from "back east". When she would specify and say North Dakota, she would obviously get some weird looks, LOL. It took some time to get her to understand that if you say "back east" it's supposed to be in relation to the country as a whole, not just because ND is technically east of CA.

We're in Chicago. My mom considered Indiana "the south." She had a point there.

And that doesn't mean he didn't make the noise. I've seen cats and dogs who would go on high alert because of an unexplained noise - a noise that came from their own rear-end! I think it's fairly common - and that's the look right there too!
