Did you know that here in NC where Krispy Kreme calls home, it is hard to find places where they make and sell those donuts. They are few and far between. They sell them in boxes at grocery stores. I like donuts but not ones that are a few days old and I don't know how I can be sure they are fresher than that. In all my trips to stores, I have never seen anyone delivering them or putting on the shelves. We do have a boat load of Dunkin's though. I like Dunkin's better. To me KK's are over glazed and way over praised.

Yes, I know that there are a lot of loyal fans of Krispy Kreme donuts that are probably, at this moment setting up a "contract" to make me an offer I can't refuse.
I don’t know how it is at your grocery, but I go shopping very early when the store opens and have often seen the Krispy Kreme delivery person bringing in new stock and removing the old. Granted, I don’t know if this is a daily occurrence because I shop weekly, but it doesn’t seem to matter what day of the week I go, they are there. They don’t stock a huge amount either, maybe a dozen boxes go on the display (a combination of six and twelve donut size boxes). They don’t seem to have to remove many boxes either, just one or two at most. So I think the product in our stores is pretty fresh.

I don‘t buy the Krispy Kreme donuts though. I prefer the store bakery brand when grocery shopping, or Dunkin if I am making a special trip.

My niece lives near a Krispy Kreme. She froze dozens of boxes and gave every one a dozen at Christmas.

I'm sure they replenish the store stock, but I still don't know when they were made. The few KK stores we have around here make them fresh and that is where I occasionally have one, but I very seldom ever go to one of those. The closest I am to one is in the Historic (original) part of Raleigh and that is a 20 to 30 minute drive from my place.
