My DH calls this "The Happiest Place on Earth." There isn't much we don't buy there. In fact, within the last 2 weeks, we each got new prescription glasses.
I have a BJ's membership but I use it mostly because I can get gas for the car at 10 to 15 cents per gallon cheaper than the rest of the area. I have exactly 4 things that I buy there for a simple reason. Places like BJ's and Costco are set up for bulk purchases. As a single I can only buy items that will last in the pantry for a long time. Items like Peanut Butter or Tea Bags, Laundry detergent and Dish washer detergent. Anything else is just to much stuff and will go bad before I get to it. Clothing looks OK but, at least here, there is no provision for trying stuff on. I would get my glasses from there but I have that with the VA, most of the time free or very low cost. I am going to try and do the math to see if after paying the membership dues I actually spend more than I save. I don't need 150 AAA batteries.
I went to Walmart this morning to pick up a few things and in the center isle was a stacked display of Bud Light. I came within a couple heart beats of buying a case of it just to show my defiance. Then I remembered I don't drink beer and no one in my family does. It was at that point my common sense gene kicked in and I walked on past it. It is unimaginable just how little that stupid boycott is going to matter to anyone. I suppose I could have given it out to some random street people, but that didn't seem like a good idea either.
