I’m proud to boast that I have NEVER lost a sock while doing laundry. Once I came close, but the sock was hidden inside a T-Shirt.

OTOH, DW has lost socks (mine and hers) several times.

I've been doing my own laundry for close to 30 years and have never lost a sock. One time I thought I had, but found it still in the clothes hamper and one other time I had left it in the dryer. They do also get caught in other clothing and if you don't wear something for awhile, you won't find it right away.

Quite the contrary. I’ve been doing laundry for over 45 years nów, since I was in college.

I treat my socks with the respect they deserve. I separate them from other items when taking out of the hamper to ensure there is an even number. If not, I investigate to find any that are missing. Yes, I’m anal about this.

I really don’t understand how people lose socks. Seriously. It’s not difficult to keep track.
