Funny Memes

...but NO ONE has ever run into someone on purpose. It can always be traced back to people stepping in front of the scooter.
And here's where I have to correct you. I've been standing perfectly still, in the same spot, and been hit by a scooter... or in a slow moving line and not actually moving, and hit by a scooter...

Well, certainly it's not always the scooter-user's fault. People can be pretty inconsiderate around those using scooters and wheelchairs, grumbling and becmoing impatient. I've also seen some pretty aggressive scooter driving though, or people zipping around with a kid hanging off of them, etc. It cuts both ways. I don't have a problem with accidents when people are polite about it, but it is annoying when folks want to be rude or act like it didn't happen at all.
Yeah. Been on the receiving end as well with a stroller. There wasn’t even a child in it. The guy was using it like a plow to clear a path at park close.

Regardless, I said it wasn't done on purpose. There is a difference between accidental and evil intent. Unless you can explain what positive affect running into you would have been obtained by the operator, intent is very much a key factor. Accidents can and will always happen from time to time, but to be so against a general concept of someone having the audacity to just try and enjoy something pain free is hard to understand. All of us, including me, would have a negative reaction to being hurt albeit accidental, but that is no reason to dismiss a simple requirement that you are lucky enough to not need.

Do you have any idea how much I resent having to look at people butts all day long and not be able to do a simple thing like standing and walking like I once did when I was younger? I can assure you that like yourself, I never once envisioned a time when I would need that assistance just to do the thing that for nearly 70 years I was able to do easily without even thinking about it.

When someone looks you in the eye and then runs over your foot, you presume evil intent. It's happened to us several times over the years. Stop being an apologist for those who do this.

I had to use a scooter years back and it was my first time. A guy talking on a phone cut right in front of me. I was boxed in and there was literally no place to go. I apologized but told him to watch where he was going. Then he swore at me in front of my kids. My son was like mum that guy is poo poo head. :rotfl2: I didn’t even tell him that wasn’t nice because it was accurate
I've had people walk into me while I was pulled over at the edge of the sidewalk...NOT moving!

I fully believe 99% of scooter users have never intentionally ran into someone.
I fully believe there have been cases of scooter users who DID intentionally run into someone.

I don't think anyone is saying that people shouldn't be able to use mobility devices, tehy are just recognizing some of the challenges that brings. Most people are perfectly polite about it - whether using them or on foot, but stuff does happen too. That's all. It all stemmed from a joke anyway.

So for no reason a person looked you in the eye and ran over your foot intentionally. If there is more to this story please explain it because otherwise I am calling BS.

Think what you want. I don't owe you an explanation. Some of these people are aggressive and entitled. Choose to believe it or not; I don't care if you're persuaded. Go ahead and call BS. But watch out for your feet.

I am aware that it came from a joke and this is a prime example of how some jokes are not as funny to some as others. This one was not funny. And you just confirmed exactly what I was saying, stuff does happen, and if intentional there has to be another side to those stories. No one does anything intentionally without having a motive.

You are correct you do not owe anyone an explanation. That is your right. It doesn't change the BS opinion though. People can be aggressive and entitled and not on a scooter. However, if you are unable to run from a conflict or move quickly you don't usually become aggressive and entitled without some provocation.
