Funny Memes

Turn signals have been the same forever. So much so that as I work in a factory I drive a forklift often. I'll get to an intersection and wanting to go into the aisleway to the left, BAM! Suddenly I'm heading backwards. The forward/reverse control lever is on the left hand side like turn signals in a car, LOL. It's hilarious to catch someone else doing it.
One of the hardest things I even had to get used to was that most modern buses are automatic transmissions so since your left foot has nothing left to do, they put the signal light switches on the floor. There are three down there.

< * > The one on the left is the left turn signal. The middle is the high/ low beam and the right is the right turn signal. It took me a little while to get used to that but after I did I found myself upset that they didn't do that with passenger cars. They are done that way to keep your hands free to steer and when I finished work I would be searching around for the floor switches in my car.

Cars in the '60's had the high beam switch on the floor. I remember learning it in Driver's Ed, then actually putting it into practice when I drove a '68 Ford Fairlane that a friend of mine couldn't figure out how to get the high beams on while on the highway.
