The I Love BWV (yes, Hallways and Clown Pool too!) Thread

For those who care about my 11 month 2 bed resort view booking saga. I got my final night! If you try at 11 months and fail I urge you to keep at it for the first week at least. Some interesting notes.

For my dates, it seems people were walking multiple days at a time not 1 day at a time, when I assumed they were walking 1 day at a time I thought the chances were slim.

Rooms would disappear before 8am booking but then come back later in the day.

This morning the room was not available. I decided to add the day to the front of my trip rather than the back even though it was more points and not my goal dates. I booked it as a separate reservation and then cancelled my single day waitlist to redo the waitlist to replace that day. After I cancelled my waitlist the day became avialable. So its possible my WL had matched but not fulfilled.. I have no idea. The other days I was able to get I had also WL them and they never matched but I found them available on my own.

Anyway I hope this helps someone in the future booking endeavors.

The number of days being walked can vary due to length of walk, such as walking through a holiday or even a weekend. I am always forgetting the idea of walking, probably because I don't want to put in months of my time, so I always end up following walkers.

Still watching for one December night. In the middle of 6 nights. I may do Swan or Swan Reserve - hopefully they will be still available in July - for free plus $50. Need my new cert to do that.

I love that Swan/Dolphin is part of credit card rewards programs as a back up.

I just checked VIP rates for next Sunday… $900 an hour….that’s $7,560 with tip… they are expecting Spring Break to be busy….

Still for up to 10 people? Do you still have to pay a minimum number of hours?

I haven't thought of this since we used to do group stuff years ago.

This morning I dropped a couple of resort studio Dec 2026 nights (and they were grabbed instantly) so someone's waitlist may have filled. I still have 5 nights remaining which follow doing Thanksgiving at Hilton Head. I started thinking 9 nights are plenty to be gone right before Xmas.

Dec 2025 I was at BWV also and enjoyed it. The Christmas decor or Candlelight Processional or the Christmas parties are nothing new for me and I did DVC's hoop de doo also on its first night.

Looking at what I just wrote, not even sure I want to keep the Orlando part. Yes to the HH part of it, that I'm going for as family can do that. Family can't go in early December and even if they did, I'd need more than a studio. I've been there done that, as in when kids were in school we always did Xmas and Spring Break to coincide with Easter, so again nothing new.

My last of January trip has added on the first 11 nights of February for a total of 14 nights. Looking at this closely. I have varying thoughts. I want to be gone when it's snowy and I want to be home when it's snowy. At home there is work to do when the weather turns and I feel a bit guilty leaving it all to my DD. If the snow doesn't fly like it did this past February I'm okay with being away.

She can handle it all but really shouldn't have to.

Being home when it’s snowing around the holidays is so cozy, but going to Disney also feels like the holidays too.

It adds cost but you could look into a snow removal service while on vacation now or when it’s needed in the future.

Yes, I've got a 'guy'. We may play in the snow a bit but someone is paid to clean it up. He will come as soon as he's done digging himself out.

The other more annoying problem was Yorkie. He won't go out when it's raining and snowing. And of course most of the month of February he couldn't make it out. He's old and crotchety. I'm keeping the puppy pad market stable. I also have cats but they are easier although only one is actually mine. Two got dropped off by older DD. These are all old pets 15, 16, 16, 17 year olds. All have been given away by someone directly to me or are rescues. Older DD rescued her two and then I became the rescuer. My cat was a stray kitten from my job when I worked. An employee climbed a tree and got him for me. No I didn't ask them to shinny up that tree!

My menagerie has been multiple rescues over the years except for a Samoyed, and Keeshond from years ago and my Persian cat. She was passed around by family until I took her permanently. Well, Yorkie is AKC also and I have his papers but it means little.

When I had a Norwegian Elkhound I took her to Disney with me. She stayed in Disney's kennel at Fort Wilderness which predated Best Friends. We would visit her there twice a day and walk her around the Fort. She loved her stay as she got a load of attention especially from one male cast member. That was before Disney allowed regular pets in rooms. I almost bought an RV for all this pet stuff.

Ahh yes we have pets too, I actually mentioned if we should drive one these days and use the Disney kennels. Pets are so much work at times but worth it.
