If you guys go back and look at my post, you'll see that I was grilling everyone on these boards with all sorts of questions about RNR, trying to talk myself into riding.
My DH loves this ride and begged me to get on it. So I work up the nerve deciding to ride at the end of the day so I won't be sick for a whole day.
We walk up near the ride, outside where everyone sits....I interview people after people, mainly females that looked like they might be scared and asked if they liked it, if it was scary.
I get in the building, get in line, not a long line maybe 10 minutes. I am about to hyperventilate. Now I have never felt like I was going to hyperventilate but I now know what people mean when they say they did or almost did. I was now so affraid that I was going to die of freight instead of the actual ride. I said to my DH "I'm going to have a heart attack in line and make history". These people behind me knew I was scared and started egging me on saying, it's ok except for the time we got stuck upside down. When we got up to the pre-show movie, they saw I was not doing well and I heard one of the guys say "hey, stop, she's scared to death."
I get up to the lane where you're about to load and thought, I can't do this. I asked DH if he would be disappointed if I didn't ride and he said yes, so I didn't want to disappoint him. I step up to the limo, both feet inside, then one foot in the limo, left foot out. The ride attendant asked me then if I wanted to back out, I started to get out and the guys that were behind us start cheering saying, NO, YOU CAN DO IT! COME ON!
I step back in, pull the harness over my shoulders and thought I couldn't breathe. We zip around, wait to take off and at that moment had I seen a CM I would have said, stop the ride, I'm off for sure.
We blast off and that first jolt got me and I was so scared, then up.....the loop and I was flying high. Loved the loop, the corkscrews, the whole thing. Got off and my cheering section found me in the gift shop and they were all giving me high fives. It was a great moment! I wish a camera crew would have been following me, I would have won $10,000 on funniest home videos.
To all my fellow chickens, YOU MUST DO THIS RIDE. I RODE TWICE AND WANTED TO RIDE MORE! I LOVED IT!

I'm not a big roller coaster fan, but I too LOVE this one! I'll do it 2 or 3 times in one day (I'd do more if I didn't have others with me LOL)

EE is good, but this one, well, rocks - pardon the pun.

Yay! Go you! :cool1:

Oh, yeah, and a couple of these guys:

I love RNR, too! Whatever you do, don't lean forward before take-off!

Marie

:lmao: What a funny story! I can't believe they actually let you ride!!! Probably had a camera focused on you the whole time with the paramedics standing by! :lmao: If you can do it, then maybe I'll give it a try! Actually, I told DD13 that we wouldn't miss it this trip so your story has served to egg me on! :thumbsup2 I don't know whether to thank you or not...

Another funny one:
My 2nd DD gets herself worked up before riding all the "adventurous" rides.
Literally in tears before boarding, then loves them all and rides multiple times!
Her first time on RNR Coaster ... she talks about it for weeks, we get to MGM, we get in line, we get to the pre-show and she starts sniffling, the tears start and she wants to get out. Mom leans over and says "If you don't stop crying and get your - - - on this ride, I will strangle you" or something a little less nice. My DH leans over and says "There we are another happy A------ family moment at Disney World!!!". :rotfl:

She's now 16 and that is still our line at the parks!. The same DD at age 7 on Splash Mt. sees the emergency exit sign at the top of the last hill and says "Dad it's an exit I WANT TO GET OFF HERE" Sorry honey too late!

Deb

I wish my story had as happy an ending as yours, alas, I too am a chicken at heart. The last roller coaster I had been on was when I was 18, and I swore I would never do it again. Fast foward to me standing outside RNR with my sister and BIL, egging me on. So I get on, get strapped in, thinking I am going to faint. We take off. I start screaming, and screaming, and screaming. Until something formally known as breakfast starts creeping up my throat. I stopped screaming (immediately) and swallowed hard! When we got off the ride, my brother in law scrambled out from behind my sister and I and hurried to helped me out. I stopped screaming so suddenly, he was afraid I had passed out! :crazy2:

SHUT UP GIRLY.....that was YOU?????????? OMG its YOUR CHEERING SQUAD :cheer2: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is RACHEL!@!!!!!! I think we Talked BEFORE you left!!!! for your TRIP!!!!! OMG!!!email me!!!!!!! :lmao: :lmao:
I think that was US!!!!!! We were RAZZING YOU at MGM with a COuple Next to us..( we werent with them) then we found you in the gift shop...omg :lmao:

I think I'm where you were, and want to be where you are now, but...I'm afraid of the motion sickness. So, I see you waited until later in the day to go on. Did that help? Did you feel queasy? Did you see the post below yours aobut the one whose breakfast came back up? :worried:

I did not feel bad at all. The only thing is my knees were shaking and my body was trembling but that was going on before I got on the ride.
I felt terrible after TOT and have never been on since so I hope this encourages you. It is not to be missed! I love it!

I think I'll have to take your word for how great it is! :rotfl: I got sick on Space Mountain (when everyone told me I wouldn't), and there is no way on earth I am going upside down on purpose!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My DD7 had herself worked up - trembling, the works, but would not back out. Poor thing, I promised her it only went upside down once (OOPS - forgot, it was 3 times!) I was afraid she would be mad, but when she got off the ride she was thrilled - LOVED it! Her daddy is taking her by herself next weekend, and asked what ride she wants to go on first...RNR of course! :rotfl:

I always work myself up before a ride, too.

That's great that you made it on RnR. It's such a terrific ride! What's the next ride you are going to conquer??? Have you been on EE yet? If you can do RnR, you can do EE!! :) :)

Mary

I love RandR. I rode it 6 times in a row. Sitting at the back seems better to me.

We didn't tell DD it went upside down before she rode. She gets herself worked up enough on her own. When the ride finished she looked at me and said "That was cool, can I ride again?" After we got off she asked "Did we go upside down?"
Now with her younger brother, I never would have told him to get on the way I did her (see my previous post). I know my kids, she was ok with the ride he would have been scarred for life.

Debbie

Added - DS is now 13 and does ride RNR and loves it. He just had to do it at his own pace.
